Bowman and Bob Nicholson can share tactics in how to silence victims of sexual assault.

McDavid is out east right now and I wonder how many phone calls he's going to receive today regarding this hire as it's not going to be well received. I often wonder how many people are in his ear every summer saying "You aren't really going to consider re-signing in Edmonton are you?". I have to imagine there are some players in that organization that aren't overly thrilled about this hire so as gross as this hire is, from a Flames fan perspective it may just be the perfect hire.

I find this all hilarious. I have no problem giving any of these guys a second chance. To me everyone mostly deserves that. But the organization will give them all second chances and to me that’s crazy. Justice League of Reformed Dirtbags.

Going through his trade history with the Hawks, he lost way more than he won.
Totally forgot he traded Panarin for Saad, ouch.
What a bizarre hire.

If Kyle Beach is fine with this, then I can't stand my ground here.
With that being said, this is classic Oilers. Hire the most repugnant people around. I don't even think Bowman got hired because he was good at his job, but just his level of repugnance made him attractive to that low-class organization. I guess we will see if Tallon or Bowman was the real builder of the Hawks.

I'll bite. Both Beach and Kennedy have endorsed the reinstatements so those are likely the most important voices in all of this. That said, I'm not convinced he was the best available candidate simply on merit. And while people deserve a second chance IF they've put in the work to learn and improve, I wish it wasn't the Oilers providing the second chance and sticking their neck out first. Self-inflicted wound for sure.

I think it’s not just this one hiring that is the reason for all of the criticism. I really think it’s the stacking of questionable hires/signings of multiple guys. This is just the final straw for a lot of fans it seems

They always list these guys as Cup Winners. Bowman was part of the Blackhawks that won cups with the players brought in by Dale Tallon.
Mike Babcock won a cup with the last of the dynasty assembled and coached by Scotty Bowman. Everywhere else, when given great players he failed miserably.

However you want to half justify it is cool but my own morality is quite honestly better than that and I am a better person for not wanting people like that on the teams I cheer for. Good on Beach and Kennedy for supporting it, but we all get to choose our own path, and I will continue to think less of anyone who supports this hire in any circumstance. I don’t believe there is any redemption for what Bowman did. Looks like I’m not alone either as the majority of the hockey world is pissed.

Well It's not like the Oilers don't have Duncan Keith ( the guy who called a SA victim a ###### for being assaulted by a man) on their pay roll.
