I would recommend ESPN Plus + VPN combo. its the best.

There are some reseller pages where you can get both for cheap or you can just split it with your friends.

Does using the reseller page get around the non-US credit card issue?

So what is Sportsnet's excuse?

Amazon can stream hockey perfectly
ESPN+ can
NHL.TV can
Pirate site operated by a 25 year old in his moms basement can

Sportsnet+ can't get through a game without issues

Like this is a serious problem for hockey, they are killing the sport in Canada. I know tons of people that have just given up

For me last week as well as yesterday I found the Amazon sound to be out of sync. Last night wasn't as bad; however the previous week I had the game on in the background; and I would hear "shoots, scores" and be able to look up and watch the scoring play happen.

Yeah, same for me. It was about 15 seconds out of sync, running it through my Telus box.

Tuned into the Amazon Leafs game last night. What a massive improvement it was was compared to Sportsnet. Loaded immediately to the highest quality, never paused, stuttered or dropped, audio in sync with video.

When I stream Sportnet, I get a drop once or twice every game regardless of which device I use: New smart TV, Chromecast or Shaw ignite box, all have issues with Sportsnet. I have 1GB down, so it's absolutely unacceptable to put up with that.

Watching on Amazon yesterday, I also enjoyed the catch up on key moments functionality or whatever it was. I was able to see all the big plays I missed before it went live to the game in progress.

The contrast between the two streaming experiences felt shocking to me and the wife. The Amazon stream simply just worked. It's the bare bones minimum expectation hockey fans should have when using a paid streaming service in 2024. Sportnet doesn't come close to meeting that.

Absolutely flawless stream from Amazon on an Nvidia Shield. Maybe it's multipurpose boxes that struggle with the higher bitrate live streams like Amazon?

Yup, add me to the list of confused SN+ customers. It really is not hard at all and if in the very unlikely event they don't have someone inhouse who can figure out the root causes of all of these issues with their streaming platform, hire someone! It's really not complicated.

My only issue with Amazon stream is that it spoils me the game score before I can press "Watch from the Start"

I’ve said it for the last 2 years, but this years experience with SportsNet+ has me even more resolute to stop giving Rogers my money for such a bad product. I would’ve watched more games from around the league already but I use up all of my patience trying to watch Calgary games.

Noticed that too. It needs to watch from start from the main screen and then give the ability to jump live if someone wants to do that. Not the other way around.

The workaround for now will be to start it live if I'm home and pause it and then come back to it later as since it appears that once you already started playing it you a resume last spot option. I'll need to try it again next Monday to be sure it'll actually work that way.

Yeah, could be. I'll try with my Android box next week to see.

The other thing is that I am also comparing Amazon's stream to Sportsnet's regular broadcast; and not their streaming service.

"Wednesday on CNBC, Bettman discussed upcoming Canadian media rights, saying the league’s triggered a 60-day window to negotiate with Rogers. It opens Jan. 1."

What is Sportsnet doing with the schedule today? Both Alberta teams playing at the same time in the bloody afternoon? The Sharks-Oilers game should be at 2000h, having two HNIC games at that time is the superior way to do it!

Centre Ice viewers have a choice with the Senators-Canucks game on HNIC. The Kraken-Knights game is the other option.

The same stupid thing happens next week with the Canucks and Oilers games.

The playoff schedule is not out yet, but, there are strong rumours that the Battle of Ontario will commence on Sunday. Suck it Leaf fans. The Battle of Florida should also start on Sunday. Monday, April 28 will be interesting as it is the federal election date.

For once Sportsnet gets it right with the scheduling having doubleheaders on various channels for Wednesday Night Hockey. The first time this season they do this, but, it is unfortunate that three of the four games are anti-climactic. Sportsnet had many chances to do this through out the season. Wake up.

The same can be said for this past Monday's Amazon prime doubleheader, the only one this season. The Prime games are basically timed for an eastern timezone audience.

The Saturday game schedule is good but, there needs to be two games at 2000h more often. On April 5, it was terrible having two western based games (Vancouver and Los Angeles) as matinees at 1400h and only one game (Calgary) at 2000h.
