I recall some discussion about other players being somehow involved but not enough to be charged. They may end up being witnesses though and some unsavory details might come out that aren't criminal, but won't look good either. I imagine a few guys on that team who weren't charged are still dreading that trial.

Could definitely see the Oilers bringing in Hart and Dube on minimum deals if they are cleared of jail time. Would somewhat explain their approach to signings and deals last few days.

I haven't been paying attention to the case at all and the allegations but if they are found not guilty should they not be allowed to play in the NHL with whatever team?

It’s not a question of whether they did it, there’s video and text evidence.

It’s just a difficult type of case to get a guilty verdict on.

It would be a bad look for anyone to sign them at this point, regardless of the outcome.

It won’t be “not guilty” because they weren’t there and didn’t take part. Or because the girl absolves them. It will be based on consent and burden of proof.

The NHL makes its own rules. It can decide conduct is not befitting the NHL. But moreover, what team is going to take on that PR nightmare? None of these players are even good enough to merit a team taking that risk.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on Boqvist or Brannstrom.

Akira Schmid surprises me, just turned 24 and has a .899 thru his first 43 NHL games.

Apparently they are still negotiating a contract. I wouldn't be surprised to see him signed before the deadline or even shortly after.

The Pens need D, but they didn't qualify P-O Joseph?

Looking at that list, was Sam Steel not extended in Dallas?

Capfriendly has Steel re-upped at $1.2m for one year, but says the contract is unconfirmed.

Likely they went straight to negotiating the actual contract and didn't bother with the QO.

Nils Lundqvist is listed at 5'10" on EP, but he's listed at 6'1" on hockeydb...

Stars website says 6'1" too, so we'll go with that.
