High end offensive pick. Flames have a deep pool. I want more high ceiling players. Silayev would have fit the bill in another way, but this is just as exciting in a completely different way.

Draft Pick

Unbelievably ecstatic about picking Parekh! What an amazing talent and so smart both on and off the ice. Amazing offensive player I couldn’t be more elated with this selection. Finally a Uber talented dman that can rival the league leading defencemen in stats one day. Give this kid 5 years and we are looking at a top ten offensive dman in the NHL. Just amazing pick Conroy!

I really didn’t want a D because I thought we would have got one of Ivan, Tij, or Berkly so I didn’t look at D very much.
Zayne seems like a very high-ceiling pick. That’s something I’m very on-board with!

Next draft is pretty week 1-10 in terms of defencemen. I actually think this works perfectly. Get your defenceman now and top centre next year.

I only wanted a dman so I was quite pleased with the run on forwards

D at this stage of the rebuild is the right direction.
Parekh is nasty.

given the board, I think D at 9 and C at 28 (or trade up a bit) makes perfect sense.
Parekh wasn't at the top of my list, but I'm glad we picked him over Silayev. Electrifying numbers for sure and seems like a likeable kid. I like it!

I’d take Parekh over Catton any day
My preference was Demidov, Lindstrom, Iggy then Parekh

Ever since earlier in the year, checking in on where Brustewicz was in the OHL D scoring race, and seeing this younger kid outscoring him, I've been interested. If Byron Bader likes it I like it. He was the first analytics/modeling guy to open my eyes to Gaudreau's potential back in the day.

Amazing pick! Calgary is in good hands with Conroy! Can’t wait to see the blueline in a few years!
