There is definitely potential that Korpisalo plays well enough in Boston that he is worth his deal. If he does, Boston did well on that part of the deal vs the Flames retaining nearly $2 mil of Markstrom contract for nothing.

But the odds NJ pick is as late as 25th OV is very low still. But it could be around 18-22 quite easily, how much more valuable is it if it's around that range?

The win for Conroy is Bahl, he more than likely is a 3rd pairing, but there is potential for him to be better than that. Kastelic is 25 now and really looks to be a 4th line center.

Bahl and the chance of a top 15 pick makes the Flames trade much better. But in a year, we could look back and say Boston did better if Korpisalo lights it up and the Devils do as well.

With the Flames situation, they need to look for home run trades. Boston probably trying to stay at the top. Korpisalo and Swayman have the potential to be just as good in net for them and cost much less in contracts.

You can not seriously tell me that you see Kastelic and Bahl having the same value. Bahl is a 23 year old dman that just played 82 games in the NHL, that clearly has potential to be a top 4 dman with right development. Kastelic is a fringe 4th line NHL player.

Dumbest take
