This trade was made and not posted:

Team: Toronto Maple Leafs

- 2026 1st Round Draft Choice (tor)
- 2026 2nd Round Draft Choice (tor)

5M to Toronto

There are a lot of teams with cap available. I would say if you are going to send two high picks for cap, teams should post that they are going to do that to maximize the value. I suspect teams would have paid more than $5M

I agree, I think that cap was harder to find last year, and 5M was bought for a 1st. I would expect a similar return this year. Who was the other team?

Matthew Knies is a Wing! Sad to see Moser go but you have to give to get. We will stop aquiring Leafs now.

The Ducks wanted to trade for the player that has the hardest name to spell in the NHL.

Happy to add Zadorov to our defensive group, which is now nearly complete:

Ekholm-Theodore
Zadorov-X

You are one Zub away from having a killer Z pairing.

To Boston;
1st in 2025 (lesser of my two picks)
Ross Colton

To Ottawa:
Patrick Kane
Curtis Lazar
If the 2025 pick is a lottery pick, then Boston will send their 1st in 2026 for Ottawa's 3rd in the same year.

Thanks to cam for easy negotiation and willingness to get done. I just traded for Colton, but could definitely used a very good winger.

So basically if Chicago or Vancouver miss the playoffs then Boston sends a 2026 1st BOS and they receive a 2026 3rd OTT.is that right?
Wording could be a bit more specific on the condition to track from a year from now

No, if Chicago AND Vancouver miss the playoffs, then the 1st for 3rd goes through because the 2025 first would be a lottery pick. If one or both make the playoffs, no condition because the lower pick would not be a lottery pick.

So lowest meaning the later pick?
It’s confusing because lowest could mean the earlier pick or later pick.

Well generally when we talk about a team having high picks, it's picks from 1-5, for example. So if one pick is 10 and the other is 20, the 20 is the lower pick.
