Hopefully he figures out sooner than later that rock-bottom is quickly approaching.
He only a short time ago put in a bunch of work in an off-season and had Darryl Sutter speak to how his body changed into that of a man....physically only.

He likely had a tougher upbringing than we know. Living a certain way at and away from thr rink has to come with risks.....he chose certain paths and environments without realizing the direction he was heading

I hope this young man reaches out. I hope he finds someone like a big Ern along the way.....I think of allot of former players that played here and publicly dealt with thier issues of the past would certainly know and who knows be able to offer him assistance but I don't think Rosey realistically knows how to ask for help yet.
He just had the greatest example of what a great future could look like if he remembers his recent team mate who also had all the potential in the world in front of him but decided it was better to admit defeat against whatever it was and work on those issues, circle back and resume his hockey career.

Hope ADAM finds the courage and hope someone will take this young man under their Wing for a bit and encourage him.

Super dumb move but this should be easy to defend. Easy excuse: they're essential oil bottles or smelling salts and he made a dumb joke. Bam.

Should we start the Oilers sign Ruzicka thread now?

Reminds me of back when I lived in the Bay Area, and we had a few people from Calgary visit. They wanted to go see the farm team in Stockton, and everyone from California was shocked they would want to go there and tried to convince them not to. They insisted and did end up going, showed up in the office the next day in shock about how bad Stockton was.

I think it comes down to most people in Canada only see the big cities in the US, the places interesting enough for foreigners to have heard to them. Most foreigners have no idea how bad rural and small town USA actually is. And wow it is WTF bad.

And the crazy thing is media wise it is portrayed totally opposite, like the cities are the bad parts, when they are actually so much nicer and safer. Having personal done both, I would feel safer walking down the sketchiest street in San Francisco with money literally hanging out of my pockets, than I would driving through Stockton.

EDMONTON, Canada — Goaltender Grant Fuhr of the Edmonton Oilers used cocaine for about seven years, but says he has been drug-free since spending two weeks in a substance-abuse center last summer, according to the Edmonton Journal.

The paper reported Friday that Fuhr at first had lied to Oiler General Manager Glen Sather--who had confronted him several times about possible substance abuse--saying, “It’s not something you tell your boss.”

According to the newspaper, Sather confirmed that Fuhr had tested positive in a private test former agent Rich Winter pressed him to take and was treated for cocaine abuse at the Straight Center in St. Petersburg, Fla.

You're clearly not on Instagram, so let me explain.

It's not meant to be private, it's just a story post.
There's no intended target, just anyone who follows your account or even wider then that if your profile is public (similar to a general tweet).
So in his case, 14,000+ people will see it and he's just sharing it to whomever.

The Honzek thing in the photo video isn't even his follower. It's Instagram saying to the viewer because you follow Ruzicka, you might also like to follow Honzek. That's just the apps algorithms making suggestions to the person who's feed is in the video.

Thanks for the clarification. No, I don't use Instagram, but apparently you can post things and select specific friends that will see it, and not all your followers. I had to Google it, but there is a privacy setting to make stuff visible only to your close friends list. Unless Ruzicka is a complete idiot, I am assuming that he meant to do that and not send it out to 14,000 people.

Sorry if anyone was offended that I said it was concerning if Honzek was a target recipient for the content. Apparently they do follow each other, but I don't know if they are that close.

I used that same chirp at Emery to great effect in a game at the Dome. My cousin and I were in the lower bowl near the net and we laid into Emery with both barrels for the period he was at our end. He ended up flipping us off after I yelled at him to get up as that was snow in his crease and not blow. Yes I am inordinately proud of getting that reaction from him

You can create groups of friends that you post certain stories too. Damn this was dumb if that was his intention and he accidentally posted to everyone though. These things get out. Creating evidence that could destroy your career is just dumb, but, I guess, not totally out of the ordinary for a guy in his 20s.
