Yeah. I agree on the Contigo lid. I actually haven't used Contigo for a few months now but it was all I used for a few years. I'm using whatever Tim Hortons used for my Flames branded mug my kids got me for Christmas a year ago. The lid is always clean.

We have gone through so many Contigo over the years because the lids become gross.

What about cheap, off-brand knockoffs?

I think I have a Yeta?

Most of my family does this and I call it their emotional support water bottles. They never leave home with out them.

Those yeti lids are trash and spill/leak everywhere. The contigo can legit go in a backpack with hot coffee and never leak.

Never really heard about the Stanleys until this video started making the rounds.

Then about a week before Christmas I ran to Home Hardware to pick up a couple things and they had a sale on Stanley cups and there were five people in front of me at the till just buying these cups, and they were all multiple of them.

I have a Yeti for coffee and a Stanley for water. I also like to rock some UGG boots. Basic-ness has snuck up on me. Still not a Swiftie at least.

Give in. Become a complete, better version of “one of us.”

UGGs are great. But there are few things better than hanging out in your UGGs, sipping water from your keg-sized Stanley, listening to “Cruel Summer.”

Yeti does hold the temperature for hot and cold liquids really well. On Saturday I poured a cup of hot water into a Yeti and left it in the car all day, and it was still fairly warm like 10 hours later.

One thing I just hate for these type of bottles is the plastic or silicon they use for the container and straws. They give a bad taste to your drink, especially on hot liquids...

I once had a random lady (who was very pretty) complement me on my UGG sneakers.

I now will only buy UGG brand of anything they make.

I think I just drink too fast for any of this to apply to me. I have no need for a drink to stay hot or cold for hours on end, it's going to be empty in 20 minutes max anyway

I have a few Yeti bottles, and the game changer for me is they're dishwasher safe. Handwashing bottles is a deal breaker for me. And they keep my drink hot / cold for many hours. I have one regularly around the house with me.

Plus, I like the fact that the lids can be replaced. So rather than ever needing to chuck the bottle, I only ever need to replace the plastic lid when they break.

I have that exact blue one, it's my shop/workin' mug. I have a nice Mauna Loa Observatory steal one for if I have to be out and looking sharp.

I have both in various iterations and here is my view.

1. Yeti is really good at basically everything, but overpriced, and the quality difference between it and Stanley does not warrant the price difference that is usually there.
2. Stanley is the best option for thermos-style containers.
3. Other than for a thermos, here's not really any reason to buy EITHER of those brands. I have a yeti colster (i.e. tall boy insulating koozie thing) and it works fine. You know what works equally well? The Camelbak version that you can always get for much less money. I have a Yeti tumbler, and it works great and has a good lid. You know what it's not materially better than? The Drinktanks ones I got for way less money in a variety of colours so everyone knows which cup is theirs at a BBQ - the Yeti's lid is better but it's not any better made or insulated.
4. If you want a water bottle, again, ignore both brands. The best I've found (great variety of highly funcitonal lids) is Klean Kanteen, and you can often get them on sale. There are other options. Why you'd pay $30+ for any of this stuff makes no sense.
5. If you're looking for an insulated cup, for example for a growler or keg pour, Drinktanks makes a top tier one and again often on sale.
