Laf is only 22, and currently has 25 points in 39 games. He’s on his way up. Gauthier is better than Laf.

Kind of funny watching the entire Flyers franchise operate as one collective a55hole unit tonight.
Lmao even Seravalli is talking smack about Philly having a long memory

Yeah, the change of heart is interesting. Kid will have a tough night when the ducks next visit Philly, assuming he's playing.

Only Johnny Gaudreau wanted to play in the City of Brotherly Love.

Our very own captain has taunted fans in the past. I mean, it was Canuck fans, so that's completely warranted but still. It helps with your point.

But he is not a top line star
Lafreniere were hyped much more than Gauthier
Gauthier will be a player but to say he will be a top line star is premature

The Ducks have very good blue line prospects in their pipeline, so moving Drysdale was a chance they could afford to take

Honestly I kind of love it, and it's the best reason.
I'd never want to play for the Oilers, screw that.
If you grow up hating and despising a team then I want the player to say "No, I hate your team" lol

I expect the Flyers to schedule an outdoor game against the Ducks in a future February and engage a local Costco into a Kirkland battery give away.

They really would become UFA at 22?
I'm surprised that doesn't happen with top tier guys then. Someone like McDavid could have given up his 3 year ELC, which he could probably have made back playing Europe, and the first RFA year. But the bidding war for a UFA 22 year old McDavid would have been massive. I think that would have increased his lifetime earnings and also let him pick where he played (and since E=NG that would have had value)

22 year old ufas are still subject to ELCs.
Everyone would have been capped at the max ELC.

Not sure if it's been talked about, but rumours coming out that this is about possible AHL time.

That would be lame on his part if true, AHL is a hell of a league...pretty insulting to the players there

Drysdale (6th overall pick in 2020; 123 NHL games) and a 2nd for a top prospect, but hasn't played a pro game and didn't want any part of your organization, seems like a good return TBH.
I think Philly did well here.
