I am sure that Anaheim used to love seeing the Flames rolling into the Honda Centre, as it was an automatic two points. Nice to see that reversal.
Flames are just going out and getting the job done right now. I haven't watched Anaheim this year yet, and they are young, but they sure look a lot more like an AHL team than an NHL one - or at least that's what the Flames made them look like tonight. Great to see Markstrom putting last season further and further in that rear view mirror, and what a feel good story that Desimone was tonight.
Hope Carlson is ok - that looked owie!! Hopefully it looked worse than it really was.
I just read that on Sportsnet. Imagine if we had gotten him, what this team would have looked like. Would we have kept Johnny and Tkachuk? I think probably.

It's a relatively new thing around the league. Guys now like to have their linemates or the guys who got the assists in the picture for special goal pucks etc.
When I was last down in AZ, Michael Carcone scored his first NHL hat trick and insisted after the game that his linemates Logan Cooley and Travis Boyd were in the picture with him.
I think it's really cool. Super happy for DeSimone, he's been such a big part of some very good Wranglers teams.

If Markstrom continues to show this caliber of goaltending, his contract becomes quite palatable. I don’t think we need to move him (nothing like posting about trading a guy after back to back outstanding performances) but if he ever was looking to get an easy ticket to a Stanley Cup contender, I’m sure Conny could oblige.
Man are we ever going to miss Tanev when he goes. I thought he was unreal again tonight. Time after time he won the battle and transitioned the puck up the ice. He is a gem.
