I thought they can only challenge goaltender interference and offside. They can challenge hand pass now? What else can they challenge?
The review for a missed stoppage in the offensive zone was added after a couple blatant blown calls, including this playoff OT goal:
I believe this was the same season a puck clearly went up and hit the netting, leading to a goal. We've seen a few of those reviews. Including that OT winner the Kings scored vs Edmonton in the playoffs.
They can also review a missed highsticking the puck for possession (not highsticking the puck into the net). The Flames have had like 6 of those, including a missed one against us that happened in the neutral zone so they couldn't overturn it.
This is the first time the Flames have won 3 games in a row that go to overtime/shootout since November 5th 2019 against Arizona (Oct 31 Nashville, Oct 24 Florida).

Every time we play the stars I ask myself the same question... How did Jason Robertson get 109 points last year? He's fine but baffling to me he gets so many points.

I have no problem with reviews in sports. We have the tech to utilize so may as well use it. I do have a problem with how the reviews come about in the NHL. In the MLB you have 15 seconds to make a choice. In the NFL you have to throw the challenge flag before the next snap. Apparently in the NHL you can call everyone you like down to the bench, bring the refs over, and have a conference about whether to challenge or not. May as well kick your feet up and offer the refs a cup of coffee while you're at it. Absolutely bogus. And then the icing on the cake is have the league call in after the benches cleared and the fans were packing up asking for a challenge. Like what the actual hell NHL?!?

I still think that Hanifin deal would have been fine
I agree. Keep the third pair/7 dman cost to under 3m and use the money on your top 4. Zadorovs contract should be the price of our entire 5/6/7th man and then some.
This team is starting to have a similar feel to that 2014/15 Flames team that incredibly resilient and never quit with all of these come from behind wins and and OT wins. Nice to see after the abomination of what last season was in that regard. Fun game to watch. I was afraid that they would come out really flat this game with the trade distraction, and I thought after Dallas scored, it was an 'excuse' to then proceed to mail it in. They didn't, they found another gear, and left Dallas in the dust all over the ice. Dallas was very lucky to be in this one and get a point out of it.
The hand pass rule is so stupid. Unlike high sticks, no chance for injury due to recklessness. It’s allowed in your own zone. It really only serves to stifle offence and slow down the game. Get rid of it.
