I doubt Duehr clears waivers.

What advanced stats of Walker Duehr in 2023-24 are "bad"?
Duehr(-7.4%) and Ruzicka (-7.8%) have both been black holes possession wise in terms of relative Corsi. Duehr gets harder minutes, which makes Ruzicka's possession numbers even harder to justify. Next worst forward is Lindholm at -3.2%, and he's been on the upswing.

He's the worst forward on the team for expected goals against per 60 ... suggests bad things happen when he's on the ice.

He's the worst forward on the team for expected goal splits ... suggests not enough good happens to make up for the bad.

Those stats are line stats or at least whoever you're on the ice with stats ... but over time if one of say five fourth line options are worse than the other four then it starts to point to a problem.

All this with limited sample size of only a quarter season for a player that doesn't play every night, and when he does he doesn't play a lot. (Duehr only has 110 minutes).

And I like the player so this isn't to hammer on him, but answer your question.

Hope he finds it ... not moving his feet, and his hands have turned to stone.

His +/- is similar to a guy with an unsustainable shooting percentage. Sure, the numbers are there, but is it on account of the individual or have they found themselves in more fortunate situations than you’d expect based on their play?

At this rate, Duehr is lucky his +/- isn’t worse. Bad things happen when he’s on the ice more often than pretty much any other player, and good things happen less.

He’s the 13th forward and playing like it. And while it’s not like we should expect more if you look at it solely based on contract, we’ve definitely seen more. With Pelletier on his way back in a couple months his days are numbered as is, but it’s worth asking if time to bring back Coronato (who is doing well in the AHL) or give another rookie a taste of the NHL and see if they can make more of it than Duehr is currently.

Or he is simply not human. They'd have had to drag my corpse away on a tarp after that.

Tanev just gets up: "Yeah. No biggie."

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

It's a shame ... because he looked like a guy that could push into the third line last year for large stretches.

Langkow for sure but man, I keep thinking of Stephane Yelle actually. That guy played through everything like Tanev.

Yelle, of course, but we likened Langkow to a Terminator because, up until the very end, you couldnt hurt him.

It took a freak injury to bring down Langkow, that guy was a machine.

Tanev...I dont even know what to say. I think thats a clear 'declining asset' but he's still damned good at what he does.

So maybe you extend him under the idea that you're eventually going to have to LTIR him?

Robyn Regehr was the Flames' original Wolverine.

When I saw the face block I immediately thought of Doug Glatt in Goon making that face save.
