But now you are making things up - there has been no mention of any behavior like that. Also, in your example, it's the inappropriate behavior that would potentially be terminable (assuming it was egregious enough), not the infidelity.

Perry joins Gordie Howe in the small group of players who has been able to play on the same NHL team as their son.

For infidelity (real, alleged, or rumoured), a trade is the next step. You can't terminate contracts for that

Unless it's true so they are remaining silent out of respect.

I expect whatever the Hawks are doing it's with keeping Bedard happy, as that's their sole motive these days.

I doubt it personally. Reporters are saying it's not true, and I just don't see them terminating a contract for that. Waiving him or trading him, sure

Can it even be drugs or gambling? Both of those would be covered by player assistance and NHLPA no? Which means it pretty much has to be something worse.
Brought sex workers into the team hotel after curfew and team still reeling from previous scandal wanted to cut ties?I can’t imagine he was arrested for DUI or we’d have heard.

Yeah, I’d believe he drove drunk with Bedard in a car over the mom thing. Hopefully he wasn’t been a creep and crossed the line.

Mike Richards was terminated over drugs and Kane was terminated over a mish mash of gambling and rumours around hurting his gf

My point is, as per the statement, mentioning unacceptable conduct and internal policies to promote professional and safe environments implies some sort of incident in a workplace. It also mentions he was in violation of his contract.

If it is true, the Hawks could have at least handled it in a more discreet way as to not put Bedard under the spotlight. Bedard is the biggest asset and player investment they have. If it has nothing to do with Bedard, then they should say what the reason is to save Bedard the embarrassment. If it does having something to do with Bedard, then they should have been more careful about doing something that would just increase speculation, like maybe trading Perry while retaining salary. They could have framed it as Perry deciding to chase another Cup. People might still speculate, but not as much as it would at least seem plausible.

But his wasn’t just drug use was it? Wasn’t he caught at the border or something? I seem to recall there being a criminal element.

I believe Erik Estrada shared the story of Craig Janney dating Shanahans wife and getting him traded off the team? Or reverse, something like that.
