Welp, it was a 5-2 game, which is just what you'd expect when the highest-scoring team in the league comes up against a bunch of has-beens and never-will-bes who can't score at all.
Huberdeau can't buy a point unless he cheats and gets an apple on an empty-net goal. Or scores a goal himself, which is also cheating, because he's supposed to be the setup guy. Fire him into the sun!
Meanwhile Lindholm, who's supposed to be this great goal-scorer, can't get anything but assists, except for the aforementioned cheating empty-netter. Fire him into the sun, too!
And I see the Flames still haven't got anyone who can score in the shootout. I'd say fire them all into the sun, but the sun would probably get indigestion and barf solar flares all over us, destroying all life on earth. Which, you know, would be the one thing even worse than this year's Flames!

It's unbelievable - you'd think it was the first time a team has ever been burdened with such an atrocity. Really bad form for the coach to call it out as an excuse IMO - coaches don't do that.
It was the Flames' first game back after an eastern road trip. But they played well so I guess they weren't tired.

Biggest thing tonight that was good to see was they were moving their feet in the offensive zone, because of it they were better at getting in position to provide puck support, and then they were making quicker passes due to having that support available.
They need to keep that up.

I love it, wins are always my preferred result.
But they should still make the trades they need to and hopefully the wins continue

The way they played tonight, I wouldn’t have been upset if they’d’ve lost. Very entertaining.
Ultimately for me, this season is free money:
-If they lose a lot, fine. Sell off the UFAs and stock up.
-If they win games, fine. I like winning.
Having said all that, there’s an endearing camaraderie/cohesiveness growing amongst this rag-tag crew (…an underdog identity that, ironically, Darryl used to love to exploit so much…)
Whatever this team is, I’m here for it!
