Put in a shot clock as well, if you don't create a shot in 30 seconds you have to give the puck up.

None of this skating around in circles, going backwards crap.

Will create more pressure, urgency and force teams to end it in OT.

Eliminating going backwards will stop the possession but with it being 3 on 3 its pretty easy to stay in the zone and keep the puck around the boards and kill the clock.

ha - just thinking of the fun photoshopped pics of goalies with a beach ball in the net... but now with a giant sized puck!

Yes...oh! I said this a long time ago.

So...many moons ago, the Brazilian Soccer League tried a unique system.

In Soccer, a win is 3 points, a draw is 1 each...so technically 'a point' was unaccounted for. So they accumulated all of those unaccounted for points into a pot and held a separate tournament where the winner would be awarded all of these 'unaccounted for' points.

Startlingly enough, this did not go well.

But maybe it'll work for the NHL?

*Arrested Development Gif - But it might work for us*

I think we can all agree that the bear on skates is the best idea so far.

It worked in Semi-Pro (minus skates).

You can't have all 3 guys inside your own blueline under any circumstances. Doing this results in an immediate penalty.

Apparently the Flames have already workshopped this idea.

Wait, does each team get a Bear?

I presume there is nothing in the NHL rule book that explicitly states that 'Bears Can't Play Hockey?'

Yes, but why does the Ref have a stick? That makes no sense!

If Refs have sticks, they can tip in all those sweet Huberdeau passes.

Could you even imagine being the poor bastard that had to put those skates on that Bear?

Lassi Thomson barred from competing for obvious reasons.
