Ok so obviously you’ve formed your opinion on Huska quickly here, and can’t argue with that given the results. But to clarify, that’s two systems that Hube is a 60 point player in, Sutter and Huska.

I’ve never personally been a big Huberdeau fan, even before he was a Flame, but yes he put up some massive point totals and was thought of as elite.

What kind of system does he need? River hockey? Or just more skill around him? Was he a play driver in Florida and now he’s not here? Isn’t that what makes an elite player, is the ability to drive play? These are honest questions I have no horse in the Huska race.

I just wonder if Hube needs a low pressure situation to be successful. Like he’s just folding under the pressure. Whatever the answer is it’s so maddening right now

He gave 110% every shift it seemed like. Wish it rubbed off on some of the top 6 last year

It isn't two systems though, Huska is using the exact same low danger, perimeter outside shooting with no traffic system that Sutter used last year. There is absolutely no difference there, the only thing Huska has changed is in the defensive end. Huberdeau will never succeed with the way this team transitions up the ice and sets up in the offensive zone, very few will actually. It just does not suit this roster at all. If we had really big guys that parked their ass in front of the opposition's net constantly, Huska's (or actually Sutter's) system would work really well. That is not this roster.

Probably why Hunt was on the top line. Huska’s phone just lumped it all together.

He was good for a while, then faded. According to you, players never progress. If a player (still very young in this case) has a bad stretch, that's it - they're done. Great player management there.

It's all horse booty. The Flames are on a long skid, the Flames goalies aren't playing well, and Wolf is lights out. Rewarding him a couple of games to see how it goes isn't exposing him to anything and it could result something very positive.
Wolf will get starts. JC people are impatient.

Does any team play that system circa 2003? I can’t think of a team that tries to generate offence that way anymore.
