The Debrincat and Giroux acquisitions weren't great. We'll see if Chychrun sticks around. I'm not sure about that Korpisalo contract worling out well.

What? Giroux has a PPG since the signing, unlike Kadri he's been a great teammate for the kids, he would be the flames best player.

Hear you. But just trying to think back to what a ####show Melnyk created for that team. Dorion had to manage through that and rebuild the team. Underfunded, front office stretched thin, owner tantrums, uber scandals, team in the press for the wrong reasons.....and all the while adding and retaining talent including a Tkachuk brother.

He's just not a guy I'd sign in Ottawa's development arc. He's 34 and will be long gone by the time they are a serious PO team. Or else he will extend and be a contractual burden.
Where did his points get them?

I think talent retention is a real plus for him. I think he miscalculated Debrincat and his ability to get him to extend, which could happen to any GM. Girouz has been fine as a player, I just don't understand the purpose of the signing.

He wanted to play close to home and is a good player. If Cale Makar or some other Calgary kid wants to sign here at the end of their career and are still good - I hope we sign the guy.

I don’t see how this is similar to ROR at all. This was negligence and deceit that had actual negative consequences for multiple franchises. Feaster and the flames were never at risk and ultimately would have been proven correct. Sens were never correct in any way shape or form. Maybe the sens were vindicated because they produced evidence that the NTC was void, then maybe I could see some similarities.

I think the lack of punishment to the Hawks is the main issue for people

Quit with this narrative! This is not a thing.
A closer comparable is the Dean McAmmond trade and re-trade by Button in 2003.

Andlauer is pissed. I kinda like it. I suppose there have to be consequences to actions which is refreshing when it comes to negligence or deceit in this case but man that’s ballsy. Dorion will get picked up sooner I’d think. I don’t disagree with the firing but Chirelli? He may be among the best at networking if he’s given so many chances and doing nothing with them.

I think it would have been more appropriate to default a couple of 2nd rounders to the teams that were impacted by the negligence. No one really benefits from the Sens losing a 1st rounder and it is bad for business as a whole. Anything that is bad for business for one team, is generally bad for the league.

Their forfeited pick is going to be a few before someone's, a couple before someone else's, and one before yet another's. All Flame round 2-7 picks just got moved up one notch. I'll take it.

You can’t make this stuff up, the NHL is an absolute joke. Best sport in the world ran by the worst possible management. Hypocrites.

Haha. That's every bit as deceitful as what Ottawa did in the first place, quite honestly!

You would think that is something the seller would have to disclose. If I was selling a business that was under investigations for something, I would expect that I would have to declare it to any purchaser.
