I think 2 games would have been the right call. He did headhunt Laine. His head springs back like a jack in the box.
Andersson could have stayed lower and levelled a good shoulder on shoulder/chest check. Would have knocked the wind out of Laine big time. That would have been a great check.

Even you have to admit four is way more harsh than similar have gotten, especially with a first timer.

In the end, this team always feels like a league afterthought unless its bad news.

Most Flames fans won't even get angry... except toward the player with the perfect record otherwise

They also didn't like that he elevated and targeted the head.

At least he can relax at home instead of having to go to Edmonton.

Did you watch the video from player safety or not?

2 more games than I thought. With only a handful of seconds left on clock and game out of reach , think league is making an example of this and they probably should.
Flames D is going to be in trouble for the next 4 games . We have no depth.

24 minutes for the top 2 pairs and 12 sheltered minutes for the bottom pair. Or they might leave Tanev with Gilbert/Oesterle and just roll with it. Should be fine.

Absolutely should've been a suspension. Four seems a little heavy to me but it's not wildly outlandish.

Just a really dumb play by Andersson, it hard to predict the amount of games.
He definitely deserves to be suspended

Again, time left on the clock and game out of reach should not have any influence on the punishment. This is the NHL, they should play to the final whistle, Laine included. He was watching his skate laces which is rarely going to end well.

I don't know what this means. Laine's knee is never on or near the ice before or during the hit.

Just a question
Many of the points deemed illegal last night were cleared as legal in the video.
It's a message board...there will probably be some debate. Look around, the vast majority think this suspension has at least some Flames tax and Oiler helping built in

Given the DoPS record, I would argue that it is absolutely wildly outlandish.

Come on now. Eat one sandwich too many at home in Calgary or be outside in Edmonton in October? Easy call.

I mean I can post a still... Laine's head is about 4 feet from the ice and his right knee is about an inch off the ice before contact. Him being bent over/going down is why it's "high"
