I meant signing. I think that’s still acquiring though, even though it doesn’t come from another team, isn’t it?
Didn’t know about the surgery, haven’t been paying close enough attention - thanks !

The rumor that Vladar was fetching at least a second rounder seemed kind of preposterous. With the goalie salaries we are seeing, there’s probably not much of a trade market for him.
The last time the Flames kept three around it cost us Paul Byron but that shouldn’t be a problem this time. Still there is not enough net for three heathy goalies to share IMO. Curious how this plays out.

Even in a robust goalie market I don't see how Vladar gets a 2nd, he isn't that good.
He is a run of the mill back-up goalie getting a 4th would be a great move at this point. We just need him gone to free up his salary and give time for Wolf.

Not sure why anyone would be disappointed that we didn't sign anyone.
We let the players blocking young players leave and we still have vets on the team so it's not like it was a need.
You win by allowing your own players to come up and grab roster spots not blocks them singing a bunch of guys to expensive deals in free agency.

We’ll see how summer and trades shake out but if there’s no UFA signings at any point this summer that guarantees full time slots inked for Pelletier, Coronato, Ruzicka, and Duehr. Rooney & Zary are your candidates for extra forward, maybe Schwindt enters the conversation. Any injuries and you’re thin pretty quick.

They have all shown outside of Coronato they can play and fill the holes in the lineup.
Agreed the depth is going to be thin but you can grab some plug and play guys to put in the minors later on in free agency.
I also have a feeling that Coronato is going to be a really good player for us and fill the net his shot looks incredible.
We also didn't loose a lot of offence from the lineup yet.

On D, if Hanifin gets dealt do we have a full 7 compliment?
Andersson, Zadorov, Tanev, Weegar, Gilbert.
One of Poirier or Kuznetsov needs to take one of the 6 spots. Gilbert needs to keep the spot that’s kind of being handed to him right now.
Great news for Stone to likely get another year offered.
So any forward or defence traded out needs to have a current roster player coming back. Or we could sign some depth UFAs.

You forgot about Kylington.
I also think the trades we make will be like the Toffoli one with a younger roster player coming back.
It's probably why the deal with Pittsburgh didn't happen because it doesn't seems like we want a futures only deal.
Interesting summer for sure.
I just like that spots are now actually open for our own players to take.

Oh right! Thanks. I forgot about him and capfriendly has him separated in IR. That makes the D situation a lot better.

With all the goalies signing today, which goalies are still on the market, and which teams are still in the market for a backup?
