I cant even imagine what Kipper would say to Markstrom over his lack of mental fortitude over the past 2 seasons.
"Swedes are weak...need to be more like the Finns. Get it together."
Hahaha, good one!
I think he would say: " you are paid 6mil to play a child's game, maybe try to enjoy it a little and you will play better. Also maybe stop sliding around on your knees when there is no shot incoming."

Perfect. Now lure Kipper back to coach mental fortitude and preparation for our goalies. A lifetime supply of quality vodka and bi-weekly fishing retreats should do the trick. Hell we can send the goalies out for a development camp in the Finnish wilderness, if he refuses to leave.
I remember the chatter at the time was that Kiprusoff used to stretch and meditate for several hours a day. He could probably teach Markstrom a thing or two about clearing your mind. He was a master of mental fortitude.

I have no idea really, but I assume part of it is having Iginla available to talk to players and convincing them to come play for the Flames. It can't hurt in recruitment to have someone like Iggy calling you up. He'll probably be like the hype guy.
He'll probably do a bit of scouting as well.

I love these guys, but also felt a tinge of hypocrisy as we chirped at Oilstains for years about their old boys club in MacTavish and Lowe, etc.
but this would be more like Ryan Smyth and Wayne Gretzky came in to take over.
Big difference is Conroy putting in the work for many years as an assistant to learn the job before being given the reigns to anything, and could have gotten a GM job anywhere in the league by now. Kevin Lowe started as an assistant coach, and 2 years later was made the GM of the Oilers for some reason
