Markstrom was pretty good. I wouldn't fault him on either goal. Kadri was pretty involved and scored a goal. Huberdeau was the goat. Made a lazy pass attempt on the PP which led to a turnover, which led to a shorthanded goal against. The rest of his game was pretty average.

Doubt it, if they miss it's mostly on goaltending and I expect Wolf in the mix next season
Tre probably wants to leave...he would dominate with better geography

Kadri scored an important goal. Outside of that he sucked.
Huberdeau made some good and some bad passes. Mediocre performance

Constantly picking off single points pretty much nullifies games.

That is why the NHL has loser points though. If it was 3 points for a regulation win, two points for a OT win and 1 point for a OT loss the playoffs would have been decided in the west a week ago. Loser points kept the Flames in it (along with Nashville).
Same in the East. Loser point and treating OT wins the same as regulation wins means there is a playoff race in the East rather than it being done a week ago or so.

Maybe the Sharks can be our anti-Blackhawks? They are 2-0 this season so far against the Jets with 1 more matchup remaining.

If Colorado & Minnesota are dressing their regulars and motivated it isn't a huge stretch, but the Flames have to get by Saros, and with this group that feels like a coin flip since they've been showing up only in the back half of games lately

Fully expect vladar to be traded in the off-season.
Fully expect Kylington to be back
Fully expect Huby and Kadri and Markstrom and Mangiapane to be better
It would be dumb to overreact imo

True but the point is still massive...people are acting like it's the final nail but if the math doesn't change a ton

I'm a bit annoyed. Draft position this year is important and with the Flames being neither here nor there it seems we're going to get a mid-round position without having the benefit of the playoffs. Only worse case is making the playoffs and getting bounced right away. I look at this season as a full waste in every way.

Yup. Makes no difference since Flames have to have more points than Jets no matter what.
Still would've needed Jets to lose two games, while Flames win out the next two.
It comes down to this upcoming week. The final turn in this race...

Your Debbie Downer negativity is annoying. As for the Gaudreau info, I had a good source he was signing right until he changed his mind at the final hour and that has been confirmed by Frank Seravalli now as well so my bad if info even BT thought was solid and the deal was getting done didn't happen. I learned pretty fast not to share any strong leads from that. So if the Flames make it by 1 point I take it you are not watching the playoffs then seeing how it's over for you? Good, then I won't have to deal with your negativity.

If you are on a 3 on 1 and choose to shoot you better hit the damn net. At least get a darn rebound. How do you spell "selfish player" in five letters? Kadri.

Yeah, it's good that they're taking advantage of them. Flames have won the same amount of games as St. Louis, 1 fewer than Ottawa, and 1 more than Vancouver. The games they've lost have been remarkably close all season long.

The team has managed to become a lot more likeable with this end of season run. Really too bad they couldn't score on one of the good chances they had in overtime. The Dube stick break felt familiar with the way things have gone this year.
I thought Hanifin, Lindholm, Dube, Coleman, and Zadorov especially played with a ton of heart. It just sucks watching the team make the same mistakes over and over like giving up early goals and chasing the game.
Now, I guess we hope that San Jose can play for a lot of pride after getting stomped by the Oilers and go back into Winnipeg with confidence after beating them last time. If that happens and the Flames can beat the Predators, then it isn't being crazy to think that they might lose one or both to the Wild and Avalanche on the road and with both of those teams in striking distance of first in the Central (both currently 2 points back).

Just be happy they have a first...a bunch of teams losing in the first round and even missing the playoffs dont

This is the rub. There are no gimmies for this team. They shouldn't have lost to the Blackhawks - let alone get season swept by them.
Don't take any game for granted. Which you could add on to the list of problems with this team; not being able to beat the lottery quality teams consistently.
