Really disappointing showing, especially after playing so well in the previous game. These guys are so Jekyll and Hyde, you just never know which team is gonna show up from game to game. It’s very frustrating as a fan.

You know things are #### when you expect every opposing shot to score.

The team should have won, but lost due to terrible goaltending. Markstrom has single handedly lost the Flames 5-10 games this year. I don't think he has stolen a single game.
Tell me how was Vladars last game? Both goalies are trash right now.

I dunno. I’m trying not to be negative but if you don’t think this team should blow it up you’re lying to yourself.

It’s not happening with this team. It just isn’t. Time to own it and adjust accordingly.

The smartest move is probably not to watch until they string more than 1 win together

Until then, nothing has changed

This team finds a way to lose unlike any other team in recent memory. Only comparable is Gulutzan’s last season.

They’ve given away too many points lately to bubble and non playoff teams. They’ll need a run of good fortune / shooting percentage to make it in my opinion.

It is possible the Oilers do not have the worst goaltending in the province. Amazing.

LOL I asked my kids if they wanted to go to the game today and they were both like NOPE!

Good call.

When freaking 50 year old Mike Smith outplays you in the playoffs we should have traded Markstrom in the off season.

It’s funny how Hrudey thinks losing all these one goal games will put us in good stead for the playoffs we’re not making.

Give these goalies enemas, exorcisms, and lobotomies.

Something has to work!

Hrudey is a good guy but unlistenable at this point. He doesn’t seem to be able to switch calibrate his approach for a regional broadcast. No one wants to hear endless compliments about the opposition.

Does Markstrom fetch anything? Or do you put him on waivers?

I wouldn't say the bolded has been the case. Defensive breakdowns happen to every team in every game. That's why there are high danger chances. That's when you need your goalie to step up and ideally stop most of them.

With how historically bad Markstrom is this season, it's making the defense look worse than it actually is because the miscues more times than not end up in the back of the net.

It's extremely difficult (impossible) as a team to play absolutely perfect defense - giving up no chances whatsoever the whole game - in order to have a chance to win.

It's not only that, it sounds like he's actively cheering for them during the broadcasts too.
