It is the Sharks and the Oilers. karlsson’s contract will be voided and he will sign with the Oilers for 7 million a year and in the offseason the NHL will rubber stamp a lump sum payment to Karlsson for the difference.

What I mean is that no one wants Nurse on that anchor contract.
I’m not sure the relevance of Kane. People want him on their team and he’s an expiring in contract.

Also I know what you meant...people were speculating Nurse plus 3 first's. They wouldn't take it because they wanted to.

This would suck. Adding a #1D would have a major trickle-down effect to Edmonton's defense core. Even if they traded Draisaitl for an ROR type they'd be in good shape

They have no depth and no worthwhile prospects, and need to move like $9M to make it work, which means moving or losing quality.
I don’t see how this would suck. They’re already top heavy. It would be worse.

A couple of options:
Oilers trade draft picks out to the end of time. Pissy and Mavi leave in 2 years.
Oilers trade roster players to balance the cap. Those players have to be replaced with el cheapo players just to ice a roster.
Even a blend of these makes for hilarity.
Chef’s kiss for Kenny h if he can make it work!
