I can't remember the last time I watch a skills comp or all star game. I am usually curious who wins some of the events, hence why I follow the threads, but the whole spectacle of it is usually cringey and annoying. The production is definitely geared towards marketing to non-fans.

It's funny how they plan for that stuff before the results are even in like it was a forgone conclusion. There is a scene in the movie Pulp Fiction where the two hitmen are congratulating themselves about a job well done, and Harvey Keitel's character makes a comment about not getting ahead of themselves. I feel like that comment would apply here.
