We are now injury riddled. Tanev is hurt, Weegar is hurt, and Lindholm is hurt. We'll probably see Lucic again whether we like it or not.

We need an elite player on this roster. We need someone that can turn things around when the team is down a goal or two. I just don’t think this is the team that’s gonna make any ways in the playoffs. If we make the playoffs.

I would just watch Zary, Pelletier and Phillips in the game than these order guys who will not improve.
And lately I started to dislike some Sutter's decision. Over time with Kadri and Toffoli? They never played together.

Does this team use their sticks differently than other teams? Like, we take 2+ high sticking penalties every game. I don't see our opponents taking high sticking penalties anywhere near as often.
Does Sutter have them doing something different??

I didn't get to see the game tonight, but checked the boxscore. I'm not really a fan of shortening the bench from the first minute. Zohornya, Phillips and Mackey arn't going to get into a groove by sitting, and it's hard on the other players playing so much.

I agree with this. Huberdeau needs to be playing at minimum 6 mins a period. The ice time allocation is absurd.

I mean that’s not even close really. If you add in the Monahan trade you have to add in Kadri. Or blame it all on the Neal trade. Lucic + Monahan +1st for Kadri

This is an old 3-2 team in a young 4-3 league. They just can’t score enough or really even generate enough chances. Its not like they are constantly goalied.
This year is going to be a slow slog to the end. Doubt they make the playoffs, can’t string anything consistent together.

I'm starting to wonder if this year's Flames are going to be like the Kings cup winners in the regular season. Very meh in the regular season but tried and tested for playoff hockey. I guess I'm just convincing myself this is what it'll be since being a top regular season team doesn't appear to be in the cards this year.

There were a ton of PPs, so Phillips got a bit of PP2 time but other than that there wasn't a ton of 5v5 time left over for them. Hope next game the Flames stop taking stupid penalties and the whole team can play.
