I liked the old days better when you could only challenge if it was high sticked in the net

is it not his shoulders and not the crossbar because he didn't score

Yes, they had to introduce it after the season with the missed gloved pass that lead to a playoff goal, and a puck in the netting missed stoppage that was blatant too during the regular season.

Yup. It's the crossbar for a deflection into the net. Rule is kinda dumb for having a baked in difference, but that's the rule.

Tkachuk has always had excellent hand eye coordination, that play was a perfect example.
