So what's the downside in calling him up and giving him a spin.

I think almost all of us are looking at it and just saying there is an obvious thing to try. It may not work, but if that's the case you probably aren't in a worse situation than you are now.

I try to look at every situation and understand why something may not be happening, but in this case, I'm struggling to justify why they won't give him a crack.

Honestly it’s kind of fitting for this organizations “luck” that the Flames have a coach that wants size and big bodies.

When the four best non-goalie prospects in the org are smaller forwards: Phillips, Pelletier, Coronato, and Zary.

Oh don't get me wrong it's ridiculous and Sutter is only shooting himself in the foot by not giving one of these young, skilled forwards a look right now.

Come on now.

Third lines and I’m with you.

Yeah, Flames really need 1 more top 6 winger. I wish we could have had a chance at landing someone like Nichushkin.

He'd be the perfect fir up there by Lindy and Hubey.

I'm really really sour on both Dube and Mangiapane right now. More so Mangiapane in reality.

As for Kadri, I fully expected him to have a burn out/come down period this year. Those cup win juices flow only so long.

Add that to the fact you can visibly see how frustrated he is with his wingers it really magnifies things for that entire line.

A perfect mixture of frustration, holding the stick too tight and flat out fatigue for Kadri.

Still, at the end of it, Flames are just one forward short. I believe that one addition will make a massive difference.

Kadri is a good player and will probably turn it around, but he just needs to let the game come to him. Dube is proving to be a 4th liner, if Phillips was called up and can make some noise in the middle 6 that pushes Dube down the lineup and one of the 4th line pluggers out of the lineup. At least that is the hope.

The Flames have been a very poorly run organization for a long time. It's always just excuses and more mediocrity. Trying to fluke into another 04' run with a decent goalie and a bunch of grinders. Except there's no Iggy this time, the goalie is not Kipper, and the clutch and grab era is long gone. Fingers crossed for a lottery pick.

The wingers have ALL been massive underacievers this season except Toffoli who's been okay. Lines be damned, Bread and Hubes haven't been half as good as last season. Between the wingers failing to establish a forecheck or breakout and Markstrom forgetting how to goalie...it just can't get much worse...please.

Remember when Backlund was tried at wing, and he was just a mess? Dube has always shown the best at centre. Fourth line would see a jump in production for him, if he lined up with at least one above replacement winger.

Do I ever. That's what I referenced when Peters wrecked the lineup. I think it was Geoff Ward who turned him into a winger for some reason a guy who has been centre his whole life and the brain trust decided it was time to turn him into a winger.

I'm fine with Dube up the middle on the 4th line.

Coleman - Dube - Lewis

Mangiapane could use a backland boost and I say we keep riding ruzickas hot hand while it is going.

But I would prefer if we end the farce and call up Phillips

If this is about Phillips, both Spotrac and Capfriendly have him as RFA after this season.

If he doesn't have 80 NHL games played by the end of this season, he'll be a Group VI Free Agent.

He currently has 1 game played and the Flames only have 61 regular season games remaining. The only way he doesn't become a UFA in July is if he gets recalled soon, plays all remaining games in the regular season, and at least 18 in the playoffs (every regular season game that goes by without him playing is another playoff game he'll need). If he doesn't become an NHL regular by Christmas, he will definitely be a UFA next year.

Closer to declaring him a Bennett.

Bennett, Kadri, Lindholm , Backlund all centers here? Wouldn't that of been fantastic. Those 4 guys have never bitched about Sutter and aren't scared to play hard.

He had 18 goals last year, isn't that somewhat of a breakout?

A lot of them were in the second half ... guessing he finishes this season around 20 again.

This site can be so intolerable when the Flames drop a few.
