I said nothing of Huberdeau having a poor choice of words. I realize by adding in that take about frustration in the scrum, which was a split second that many didn't pick up on, I confused the article - which asks the question about their relationship ... which is a work in progress.

Do people not see how Francis's peers interact with him? Do they not see the tonnes of charity that he does in the city, or how vocally supportive he is of young journalists? Yeah, Francis is annoying for how he courts controversy, but most—if not all—of his takes are pretty innocuous. He understands his role, and plays it pretty well—as evinced from descriptions like this one here. But I think there is certainly a tonne of evidence to show that at the heart of it, he's a good guy who doesn't take the stuff he "reports" seriously. Neither should we.

I can understand not agreeing with some of his takes or thinking his writing is dull, but he's not on the rage-inducing level of a Steve Simmons or Damien Cox or Cathal Kelly.

He isn't on their level, but at the end of the day he creates purposeful rifts between fans and the team as a "role". I respect the person he is outside of his job (he is an excellent person) but I can't respect the role he plays in our city sports scene.

It's a character, not an honest actor and I really don't like that. Especially when his attempts often blow up into major local stories with all media on board, in regards to Flames stars.

I never post anything of this sort but I did hear through a close friend who's also friends with a Flames family that the Sutter comment about him taking a #### did not go over well and caused a bit of a rift in the locker room.

So I don't think its totally out to lunch that there's some rockiness between Sutter and Huberdeau here.
