christmas after that next boa I think you have a good idea of what you have . if they get bodies back and start to put it together including huberdeau finding his form then there is hope that the pieces just needed to gel .. if they are listless and struggle to produce despite getting healthy again then the team might just not be built to succeed

This team isn't making the playoffs the poor start along with Vegas separating themselves. They can try to be a wild card and get swept by these same same teams they can't beat because our schedule is so hard. To be a top team you have to beat top teams and it seems we can't.

Ah yes! But if we become the bottom team then we'll never lose to a team that is worse than us!

Connor Bedard would be a great prize for this season. If we get Bedard we can build statutes for Sutter Lucic Lewis Rooney and Ritchie.

Short term, I'm pessimistic, this season isn't going well. Over the next few years, some things may get better (free up the Lucic cap space for example). Long term... worried.

I can't believe how "off" Lindholm has looked. I think he's a very good player. I never expected him to approach Bergeron numbers and he did last year. This year, he looks lost. Huberdeau too, and hopefully they pull it together.

I think the rest of the team is what it is. Lack of puck talent up front. D core is currently picked-apart by absence and injury.

I love the injected energy and talent of Kadri, but it actually shows a glaring reflection of how mediocre the rest of the team is. Kadri looks amazing compared to the rest of these pluggers. It's good he's doing well, but it's bad that he looks SO much better than everyone else.

Sutter can win you a cup. But he's basically got one answer, right? Outwork the other team. I don't really think he's a systems genius, I don't really know. But all I see from him right now is he's giving lots of minutes to bad players, trying to light a fire under the better ones. It's not working out well.

This year looks poor.

Next year, with hopefully Kylington back and Tanev not broken, the D should be way better. And hopefully Huberdeau finds his game and maybe some positive changes can be made in terms of scoring wingers.

I did actually.

The point still stands people keep using the schedule as the excuse it's to hard to many good teams. Well we have to beat the top teams to win the cup. Waiting to pound on bottom feeders to qualify as a wild card will just get you swept.

This team just doesn't have it right now and the trend won't change. Crosi stats don't get you points.

"the trend wont change"

well that's it then , this guy clearly has a crystal ball . let's pack it up and go home lol

the corsi doesn't win you games but it does suggest when you're likely on the precipice of breaking through and starting to win . teams don't often put up the underlying numbers the flames did on that road trip and not begin to see it turn into wins

They have beaten Colorado, Vegas, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Edmonton.

How does Vegas separating keep the Flames out of the playoffs exactly? Go look at the points percentage of the Pacific teams.

Pittsburgh 5-6-2
Edmonton 8-7
Colorado 7-4-1

Not a bunch of world beaters. But the schedule has been so hard. We got 8 games at home and you complained to many home games why doesn't Boston complain about being home so much? 8-0

Keep making excuses

Well it didn't break through did it going 0-2-1 you can put up as many muffin outside shots you want but until you get skill players to dig in and go inside to score goals and actually play them those results won't change.

Home and away barely factors in the outcome of NHL games...strength of opponent is a way bigger factor

Would you rather play Colorado at home 82 times or Columbus on the road 82 times.

Colorado isn't a world beater lol

Who do you think the Flames would play in round one if they are a 2-3 seed? Seattle, Edmonton, LA?

World beaters!

Go look back at your posts you keep contradicting yourself. Too many home games it's gotten stale need to go on the road so which is it? Pick your excuse for the team crapping the bed and stick with it.

You keeps asking me to bet you? Why would want to bet on my teams downfall? I'm gonna bet you a grand and hope and pray the team sucks? Common now. We all want the team to win but they just aren't good enough and you keep making excuses maybe they just aren't as good as we hoped.

They played good on the road, fine line in hockey

They are missing 2 of their best players and lost a coin flip to the two best records in the league

You are acting like a jackass and I'm calling you out...if you are certain they are missing the playoffs take my money otherwise stop acting like the season is already over.

Feels like a 13-16th overall draft pick year.

13th if I'm feeling optimistic.
