I doubt very much that the system is at fault for him not being able to find open ice - other players have found, and continue to find open ice.

I suspect it has more to do with the fact that he is thinking too much, and trying too hard, as a result of the new situation, his desire to show fans what he can do, as well as him trying to learn and execute the system.

Right now, he isn't moving his feet enough.

Time for Huberdeau to stop take risky passes at the blue line with no D-Man behind him 2 times a game. Noting he has to re-learn his game with new team mates.

He played well tonight and got rewarded with that nice assist on Backs 1st goal. He also made that nice set-up to Lindy in OT that he didn’t bury. I think Huby will figure it out sooner rather than later. Guys with his level of skill don’t stay cold forever

Right now Huberdeau is 15th on the team in even strength scoring. Usually he’s 15th in the league.

Time to step it up.

Either that, or this team is making their players play through debilitating injury again. If so, great $80 million dollar investment you knobs.

Huberdeau had a really good game

great pass on goal one
great screen on goal two
Amazing setup to Lindholm in OT...he did his part but others need to bury

playmaker was making plays, guys need to put the puck in the net and not in the goalies chest

He ranks 139th among NHL forwards in ice time per game. That’s middling second line minutes. Sutter deserves criticism for his failure to integrate this elite talent into the lineup.

criticism about Huberdeau tonight is just bizarre - he was really good, and this was his best game of the season so far, IMO.

Not sure how anyone can complain about tonight. His pass on the Backlund goal was amazing he drew 3 guys to him made a move and made a tape tape pass for a goal. Set up a screen for the 2nd. He made other nifty plays to keep the puck alive in traffic and set up Lindholm to win and he shot it into the goalie.

All this while his coach sits him like he's a 4th line plugger. Barzal played 24 minutes and had 3 assists. Our guy is flying and he's playing as much as our pluggers.

As I dont believe Calgary forwards should be playing 24 minutes a night, the 4th line can sit all 3rd as far as I'm concerned right now.

I'm just pointing out other teams play star forwards my have them sit. Right now he's paying 15-16 minutes a night is that reasonable? Is it reasonable to expect him to tear it up when Sutter gifts his boys ice time.

You can't call young players entitled and turn around and gift minutes to undeserving players.

I thought Huberdeau had a great game tonight. If he can keep that up he’ll be fine.

Be nice to get Lindholm off the schnid now.
