Even “I noticed that” is sometimes more than he wants. He seems to enjoy general questions as opposed to picking about plays or players as well. Ask him about the factors that come into play on a long road trip and he will go on for 5 minutes. Ask him why a guy is struggling and you’ll get lip service at best.

Nope.
