Christian Fischer from the Coyotes is a really good interview. Haven't seen an interview with a hockey player before where the answers weren't canned cliches.

Yeah but he could cost them draft position if he plays well enough to get them something at the deadline

Double edged sword

Not to mention the Habs can't really retain salary unless they move a lot of guys. No contender can fit the whole cap.

Montreal should be going all out for Bedard

I hated the hire but after listening to him talk and what he focuses on, he talks about playing as a team and not individually. The thing that's poisoned the Jets the last few years is the Players running the show taking long shifts and not playing across the 3 zones

Super early and no victory laps for me but I enjoy the hockey so far. There's compete.

queue: immediate Jets collapse lol

I admit that when they are sucking for a decade it makes it harder to really get enthusiastic about supporting them. Plus having kids seems to take up a lot of time.

when you have a goalie like hellebuyk you have to capitalize on that by playing a structured game in front of him . he is as reliable as they come .. bowness is the closest thing to traditional Sutter hockey and that's what Winnipeg needs to hope to be a winning team

it was a good move even though I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that brand of hockey as a fan

Great game in Montreal as the Habs win 3-2 in overtime. The Penguins had a 2-0 lead with Malkin scoring both goals. The third period comeback each scored the winning goal on the power play. DeSmith and Montembault were solid in net.

The Jets are losing 3-1.

I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s 0-3 Canucks via 0-3 BJs. Moveable object meets stoppable force.

How much is Ottinger going to cost the Stars to re-sign?

He was also named 3rd star of Week 1 of the NHL.

Kid is going to be a beast.

Yeah, it was a give and take. He had shown enough, imo, to warrant a higher AAV, but the stars (or maybe Ottinger) wanted short term. I bet he would have been a $5-6mil AAV goalie on a 5-8 year deal, and personally I would have done it.

Stars can make hay for three years with an extremely low cap hit for a top 3-5 NHL goalie, but if remains like this he'll be the next $10mil goalie and factoring in rising cap, that may be more like a $12-$14 mil goalie,

But I think if they want longer term they'll have to pay more than $4M?
