I was also there…with ear plugs. I was in the 1st bowl (as was everyone else) compared to typically being in the 2nd bowl - but in both cases they’re steadily sitting at about 90dB and exceeding 100dB constantly.
It’s just for the trash music too. You can’t talk to the people next to you comfortably anymore.

Nope, don’t have it… but solid attempt.
My old man does, it’s awful.
The dome changed this year, I’ve had season tickets the last 13 years (flames, Hitmen, roughnecks) and it’s never been this bad.
New speakers, higher volume or different frequency I don’t know what it is but it’s bad. Took the kids to the wranglers game today and had to leave after the first as they both complained their ears hurt and that was after covering them.

One thing I can't stand is the guy in the crowd that screams into his mic in between plays. The same obnoxious tone every time, like bad 90s radio dj energy

Many years ago I did a webcast in the Eau Claire Sheraton. There was a buzzing noise from something in the room. I asked the hotel's A/V guy to check it out. He said he couldn't hear it, but he also mentioned he was deaf in one ear.
I guess he works at the Saddledome now.

Count me in with the too loud crowd. Very unpleasant to the ears. My kids hate it too. Our oldest has autism and has sensory issues and it is simply too loud. Last year when I took him to a game, the Flames had advertised that they had sensory kits (including headphones to help with the noise) available for free, but when we asked for a kit at the game they said they didn't have any in stock.

The Flames game day experience is too obnoxious/loud for me but I know people that like it

I think they have been trying to copy Edmonton who use a lot of artificial noise because the new building isn't very loud.

Last week, I took a trip with my wife to Vegas for a 9 day vacation, where we were able to catch the Raiders/Broncos game, Golden Knights vs Coyotes pre-season game, and the Shamrock Series between Notre Dame and BYU in Allegiant Stadium. All 3 games, and especially the VGK game, were deafeningly loud. I think this is the trend for in-game entertainment these days. It’s like they don’t want you to talk between plays.

I had friends there with me today and one of them said "why do they tell us to make some noise? You can't hear the crowd until the music is off." I think that summarizes it well.

CSEC is sorry to hear about the noise level during your recent visit, it is unfortunately beyond our control as the aging structure has concrete falling off and is a literal death trap at every corner. We've been working hard to bring you an incredible new sports and entertainment building but the communists down at city hall allow us to bring you this breathtaking complex. We sincerely apologize but grin and bear it in the mean time.
Kind Regards,
Murray

It is interesting to read these comments. I've never really considered it too loud in the dome. Roughnecks games are definitely loud but that is expected because they are selling a party environment and it is basically like being in a club for a few hours. As horrible as this will sound I wonder what it would be like if they tried some simulated crowd noise instead of louder music?
I pretty much never go to Stamps games but we live a few blocks NW of the University and on game day I can hear the stadium announcer when I am in the backyard and that seems really excessive. Obviously it is open air and the sound carries more but it must be crazy loud in the stadium.

I said exactly the same thing to my wife at the game today.

I don't care about the volume, but they should fire whoever chose that cheesy techno for the intros in game 1.

Can someone send this thread to someone at CSEC? I use the regular seasons game as a way to catch up with friends and family. The inability to have conversations with them between whistles is super irritating.

Interesting. I was at the Raiders-Broncos game as well and didn’t find it too loud at all. I’m also turning 40 tomorrow so it’s not like I’m young or anything.

You might be right about that, but the VGK game was loud for sure, as I couldn't hear my wife talking right next to me. I had similar problems at the Irish game, as I was seated next to a couple who were Notre Dame alumni, and I was having a hard time hearing them. Where were you seated?

But, like, what exactly does that have to do with the PA being on blast?
I love my music, but I couldn’t agree more that the volume is beyond any reasonable level. I know when I want to spend an evening with a friend or my family, HAVING TO YELL AT THEM and being wholly unable to converse with anyone not immediately beside me is a hell of a lot bigger factor than anything else you can fault the dome for.
Y’all aren’t old curmudgeons, it’s unpleasantly loud when the plays not on.
Edit: totally went way over my damn head.

i don't notice anything louder except the fans are doing better job. The music and announcer is perfect volume imo.

Don't forget we had a time where buildings had no fans and so piping in noise noise any noise was likely key to creating some kind of atmosphere.
I hope for loud buildings when I go to games but this sounds horrendous.
