There is no question that he has the ability to take it to another level, all the tools are there. Doesn't mean he will, but with his skating, physicality, tenacity, and - most important - drive, I am confident that he will.

I think he settles in as a really solid second line guy that puts up 40-50 pts a year for a few years, maybe peaking out in the 60-70 pt range. Doubt that happens this year, but I bet he's a 2nd liner within another year.

Assuming no Hockey Canada issues, I’d like to see him given a lot more rope in a better role a la Kylington and see what he can do.

Does he eventually become a centre or stay as winger?

I personally view him as a guy that can move anywhere in the top 9 in any of the 3 forward positions. It’s more ideal to have him as a winger in the middle 6 though.

No, he’s a middle bottom forward. He’s got decent speed but his shot is nothing to write home about and he doesn’t have much vision. He’s a guy who is serviceable for what the Flames are: a mediocre team that doesn’t have a hope of competing for much. He should be a tweener on a team like Arizona, Calgary, Columbus, Buffalo, etc.

'Cos Arizona, Columbus, Buffalo, etc., have all finished first in their division twice in the last four years. Calgary is just exactly comparable to them.

The NHL is a tough league and Dube is a guy that has to work extremely hard to look like a top 6 player. I don't think it is reasonable to expect that from him all the time.

Dube is an old, old man at the ripe old age of 23. I predict that halfway through the season he will retire to play pickleball full time. Clearly post apex.
