Hah, finally I see a challenge I could actually do. I love Beat Saber, and I'm fairly decent at it too.
Beautiful scenery this week.

Yeah I had forgot about the Canadian version’s ridiculous product placement challenges every week just to exist. When we’ve got to the point of playing VR arcade games in Lethbridge, maybe it’s just time to just not make these anymore…

Loved the goat challenge. Duplicate number and teams cannot help each other.

Thought it was funny when they asked Ron Sutter for directions. I immediately said to my wife... "I'm pretty sure that's a Sutter brother." Glad I'm not crazy.

Agreed. I fully expect these things, including long-standing annoyances like the fake car horns every time anyone crosses an urban street to make things look more chaotic than they really are. But this season it all seems to be cranked up substantially.
I'll still watch it as I know what to expect from the formula, and I understand the economics. Omicron very much a factor in the spring when they filmed it as well, after a couple of years off. But the decline is still pretty apparent in this season.

Just got back from vacation and caught up on the episode I missed. (Portugal, fyi, but next vacation will definitely be a visit to Subway in Lethbridge.)
I enjoyed this episode, because it mixed the teams up. The product placement kind of annoys me, but I figure if they didn't have it, they couldn't do that show, so whatever. The fake farm stands is kind of standard for the show (all versions) I think. They need to make it work for the challenges. The challenge really was not to get lost.
Thought the duplicate numbers on the goats was perfect. Felt bad for Catherine (?) who was shown adding those numbers together wrong over and over again on TV. Oops! I didn't quite get why the racers kept trying to memorize the numbers themselves. Just add as you go.

An eliminated team gets a second chance to race again???
Well now, this is a RuPaul type twist. Maybe my team gets a chance to come back!??!

"Reindeer don't exist."
This week, the teams fondle wieners in Waterton and listen to some guy talk about his Hot Spot 20 incher in Fernie.
Craig danced his way into first place. Cassie & Jahmeek assumed they were awesome and were completely baffled when they finished last...even though they knew they were in last for most of the leg.
- Catherine & Craig (win trip to Bangkok, and $2,000 Marshalls gift card)
- Brendan & Connor
- Beverley & Veronica
- Jesse & Marika
- Court & Ali
- Cedric & Tychon
- Franca & Nella
- Dennis & Durrell
- Cassie & Jahmeek
- Jully & Kathy
- Fuzz : Jesse & Marika / Franca & Nella
- chummer : Catherine & Craig / Cassie & Jahmeek
- GirlySports : Brendan & Connor / Court & Ali
- Cheese : Court & Ali / Jully & Kathy
- WhiteTiger : Beverley & Veronica / Cedric & Tychon
- surferguy : Dennis & Durrell / Durrell & Dennis
- getbak : Cassie & Jahmeek / Brendan & Connor
- EldrickOnIce : Jully & Kathy / Beverley & Veronica
- Amethyst : Cedric & Tychon / Jesse & Marika
- brocoli : Franca & Nella / Catherine & Craig
Next week: The teams come back to Alberta and visit Canmore. Also, it looks like Jully & Kathy might be back? Weird.

Seems strange to bring them back. Although one of the racers (Connor?) said something to his partner about his quad, so she would have to do the road block. Maybe he (or someone else) is injured badly enough that they can't continue.
Jully and Kathy did not excite me, so not thrilled to have them back. I'd rather keep Cassie and Jahmeek. They seem like a fun pair.

Yeah, the only way it would make sense to bring a team back would be if someone was forced to drop out for some reason. Although, in that case, I'd prefer they just said the other team self-eliminated and that would be the elimination for that leg.
Actually, another reason would be if something significant happened to Jully & Kathy on the first leg that was out of their control and they would normally have received a time credit for but wasn't brought to the producers' attention until after the second leg had started (time credits aren't usually shown on air, but apparently they do happen if a production problem slows a team down). If the time credit would have been enough to move them out of last place, that could be a good reason to bring them back.
That might make more sense because there wouldn't be any reason for them to be in Canmore just in case someone had to pull out (and it would make more sense to keep Cassie & Jahmeek in instead since they'd still be with the pack).

Yeah, that makes sense. I was just thinking back to the American version during the pandemic, where they brought back the eliminated teams when some of the others couldn't participate in the re-start.

I caught up this morning. Brendan and Connor holding onto these express passes and making a big deal out of wanting something in return for them is going to bite them in the ass.
Amazing Race 101: If you have express passes to give away, give them away ASAP to the two weakest teams at the beginning of the 2nd leg.
You want people to burn them. Would you rather people use express passes when there's 9 teams left or 7 teams left? I think if Brendan and Connor had done that, both passes would have been burned by now, either at the goat challenge or the bike challenge. Or Cassie and Jahmeek get to the Aerobics roadblock, see that they're in last with no chance to get ahead, use the express pass and head to the pit stop eliminating Dennis and Durrell.

Just caught up. It was neat to see the time delay between the teams at the start. It was about what I thought it was (2 hours).
The dance-challenge was pretty amusing. Gotta love the 80's!

"Okay. Gonna go down to the river."
This week, 3 teams get COVID and have to drop out, so the previously-eliminated teams get a second chance.
The teams that remain travel to Canmore for some outdoor fun. Cassie & Jahmeek finish last for the second leg in a row, but live to see another day due to a non-elimination.

- Jesse & Marika
- Franca & Nella
- Cedric & Tychon
- Jully & Kathy
- Beverley & Veronica
- Cassie & Jahmeek (non-elimination)
- Catherine & Craig (COVID)
- Court & Ali (COVID)
- Dennis & Durrell (COVID)
- Fuzz : Jesse & Marika / Franca & Nella
- chummer : Catherine & Craig / Cassie & Jahmeek
- GirlySports : Brendan & Connor / Court & Ali
- Cheese : Court & Ali / Jully & Kathy
- WhiteTiger : Beverley & Veronica / Cedric & Tychon
- surferguy : Dennis & Durrell / Dennis & Durrell
- getbak : Cassie & Jahmeek / Brendan & Connor
- EldrickOnIce : Jully & Kathy / Beverley & Veronica
- Amethyst : Cedric & Tychon / Jesse & Marika
- brocoli : Franca & Nella / Catherine & Craig
Next week: The teams head west to Vernon, BC.

Looks like quadruple D turned out to be just a bit to much D for Surferguy.

Sorry to see Catherine and Craig's race end this way. Really great story and am really happy they won last leg.
I have two teams again,I guess. Yay?

Apparently the two D's were not for a "double-dose of pimpin", nevermind all four.

I guess it shouldn't be surprising that covid would affect the race, but I was surprised to learn that was the reason. I wonder if those three teams were all on the same bus or something in the previous leg.
I don't mind the rest of the teams, but Beverley and Veronica got on my last nerve last night. I was hoping to see them go home.

They started the leg with a chip on their shoulder from not getting the express pass, and I think that mentally screwed them.
