Well almost every player on the ice didn't know it went in either and the puck was tucked up under the net and over the back crossbar, so safe to say the ref couldn't see it.
Byram looked to be the only player on the ice that knew.

Stamkos and Segachev knew, guy in the press box knew. The puck was stuck in the net but not hidden. Just seemed odd...ref skates over to the net and sees the puck yet makes no signal.
