You don’t care if two of our first line forwards walk? Not surprising, you only post after the Flames lose a game.

Treliving is going to have a busy summer signing 23 new UFAs. Hopefully we can grab Evander Kane.

If the Flames signed Kane that might be enough for me to stop being a fan until he's gone.
Not the type of thing I'd want to support.
The Oilers are a disgrace as it stands. Getting Kane made them even more embarrassing.

His post wasn't green text but it might as well have been. The need for 23 UFA's should've been a dead giveaway.

Pfff...he won't come back as MegaErtz when that happens. He'll just make another account.

Of course there's a chance that Gaudreau signs with the Flames. After all, we can give him an eight year contract and he'll only get seven anywhere else. I just think that he's much more likely to leave, because I feel as though he would have signed already if he wanted to stay.

Do you know he hasn't signed? It's possible he has, and it's not been announced. I have no idea what the likelihood of this is, but you're basing this on a "just think", an "I feel", all hinging on an status you don't know.

I have no idea if he wants to stay, go, indifferent. But your logic doesn’t factor in that regardless of where he might want to be, or who he might want to sign with, if Johnny believes in himself, financially he has / had mo motivation to sign earlier.
His value was likely as low as it could be (for Johnny, not for any player) at the start of the season. He’s done nothing but increase his value with all suitors as the season has gone on. I’d say now is an interesting time. Playoff success likely increases his value further, playoff failure might reduce it a little bit. But regardless of that, I’m guessing neither side is talking contracts now as to not distract from the playoffs.
But the he’d signed already argument if he wanted to be here doesn’t factor in the fact he’s trying to maximize his value.

With today's rising gas prices, they can't afford NOT to sign him!

It would have been announced already. It’s a huge distraction. No point keeping it under wraps.

More importantly, will the Flames sign Matthew Phillips?

Huge distraction for who? You? The player, the agent and the team agreed it would be discussed in the summer. He's not playing like it's a distraction, his team isn't playing like it is, the media is not asking about him about it. It's been kept quiet so much that if you weren't a part of this fanbase, you wouldn't even know that he was a UFA at the end of the season.

I hope they are able to sign him. I'm also hoping they can rid themselves of Monahan for someone willing to take a flyer on him. He's a lost cause and the Flames mishandled his situation but his money saved can allow them to keep others including Gaudreau.

Anyone know what Johnny’s parents said when they were interviewed by Ryan Leslie. I missed the interview but heard they mentioned something about his contract status?
