It was perfect. I like having cross divisional first/second round matchups too.
Especially since the schedule within the conference is essentially balanced.

I'll take a 4-3 OT comeback loss.

You get the excitement and thrill of the comeback by the good guys to ensure another point, and the consolation of knowing the Knight closed the gap on 3rd a little more.

We have the division signed and sealed at this point. Next most important thing is screwing over the Oilers.

I would much rather see the Flames take another season series (especially with Stone and Eichel in the line up) than worry about anything to do with other teams.

It’s way more important to go into the playoffs on a heater and in doing so eliminate a playoff threat to us before they even get in

So hope Vegas loses today and against Edmonton. I think Dallas could be our first round opponent given their schedule vs Nashville’s

I will say this. I want the Flames to win tonight but if the Flames lose and the Oilers lose I will quickly be able to look on the bright side.

G and Z are back together! Mackey should be in. Should rest Kylington for the playoffs.

Was thinking the same. If we lose and the Oilers lose its a silver linings thing. I want to clinch tonight if possible

Yeah, as much as I hate the grease (And Boy do I), they matter not tonight. All that matters is putting the Knights down. I want a 18-0 final score for the Flames. Absolute and utter domination.

The grease can (and will) fail all on their own.

I hate the Oilers, but I want Vegas' $120M payroll nowhere near the playoffs.

Period. Zero discussion needed.

I agree with you regarding Vegas. It's funny how a $93M payroll turns into a $100M when Sutter rounds it up, then it turns into $120M because $100M just doesn't sound quite as good.

Left Shark is also on LTIR. $20 million AAV salary.

Dallas then Edmonton as a path to the West final is about as easy as it gets. None of you should want to see Vegas get in even if it means Edmonton getting humiliated. That 100M payroll + playing in a building we’ve seen 0 success in would not be fun.

Hoping for a 3-0 win tonight. Andersson, Lindholm and Backlund.

I don’t care who we play really. You gotta beat the best to win the cup anyway.

That is correct, it is only on that channel. The West channel will have the Oilers game. When that game ends, the Flames game will be on the West channel and it will be around the start of the third period.

All this talk of losing doesn't really matter because the Flames typically clap the Knights at home. It's on the road they can't buy a win.

Are you saying if the Oilers and Vegas played in the conference finals, you'd be ok with the Oilers winning? I'd be the biggest Vegas homer if that (gross) situation actually happened. Luckily, it won't since either Vegas misses, or we see Vegas pummel the Oilers in the first round.
I would hate either team to win but probably would rather see the Oilers lose.

That doesn’t mean I want Vegas to make the playoffs and will root for that just so they potentially play Oilers first round.

For me the perfect scenario is Vegas missing the playoffs and we knock the Oilers out in round two or they lose to whoever they matchup against in round one.

Yup.

Either go full divisional and go 1 vs 4 in each division.

Or do a conference view and it's 1 vs 8.

This weird hybrid is the worst possible solution that leads to top seeds sometimes getting worse matchups.

The Flames don't have to beat Florida, Carolina, Tampa, and Colorado. Maybe 2 at most. There isn't a special Stanley Cup for beating the top teams. Do you think Tampa fans care that they got fortunate enough to face Montreal in the final last year?

I'll take the easiest path to a Cup please and thanks. And $100M playoff Vegas is not a normal team.
