"marijuana, opioids, tricyclic antidepressants and benzodiazepines"
Three are not like the other, f%$^ng opioids should be banned everywhere except hospital use.
Will that make a difference though? I mean opiods have now become a readily available street drug.
I think dealers that sell opiods should simply get a bullet to the head, they know its extremely likely that the garbage they sell is a death sentence.

It's crazy to think that sexy pharma sales reps bamboozled doctors into starting the opiod epidemic and absolutely no one is going to get in trouble for it, even though the damage caused is going to reverberate throughout the entire rest of our lives.
It was in one of the Nirvana or Foo Fighter books where Grohl was saying how he struggled with his industry killing people with addiction and overdose and if he was complicit by being in it.
I suspect he is done as being in a regular touring band.

My gut says the Foo Fighters are likely done, as I feel like Taylor was really the catalyst for the project gelling into a more permanent form. I mean much of first iteration of the band (minus Nate Mendel) essentially quit or got fired between 1995-1999, they seemed much more stable in the studio with Taylor there.
But Dave’s got so many options at this point, he’s a creative force that can basically do whatever the heck he wants, but he’s also versatile enough to slot into anyone else’s projects ad hoc.
But the flip side of Dave being so well connected is they could likely peg any drummer in any band and have success… so who knows.
I imagine the Foos will be on hiatus for at least a year or two before anything happens regarding a replacement drummer, etc... It's always been Dave's baby of course, so in the end it'll be up to him whether or not they continue as a band. Dude has unfortunately been through this too many times now. Ya gotta feel for the guy.

I've had tickets for two separate gigs postponed over and over since COVID started (RATM and Dara O'Briain) and every time I get the e-mail I just roll my eyes.
I had tickets for this show too, but this is heartbreaking, and I'm so fortunate I got to see them when they were here in 2018. Take as much time as you need, Foo.
Hawkins did a recent interview with the Rolling Stone podcast Music Now. Pretty sure this is his final interview. It's a tough listen, as he sounds so happy, grateful, and excited.
He also talks a lot about being sober and healthy, and that he has to be stone cold sober when he plays a show, otherwise it's a train wreck. For a guy who sounds like he had a pretty good handle on life, it makes me wonder how he got to a point where he felt like he needed all those drugs in his system. So incredibly sad.
