Sucks to lose but when you do lose in extra time get the point and run.

Defintely lucky to get the point.
Montreal won every race to the puck, and just completely out-battled us. We're going to have to step it up several levels if we want to even be competitive against Colorado.
Colorado lost to Arizona in regulation.

Maybe s#### just happens (even to good teams).

I looked past the Habs today. Kind of just wanted this one out of the way to focus on the big Colorado matchup.

I think Lucic and Monahan need to be split up.

Dube-Monahan-Toffoli

is the best option

Hard to break records. Montreal didn't want to be that team. Flames didn't deserve the win. Move on. Darryl was not amused.

I made some popcorn during the third period, but left it in the microwave too long, and every fifth popcorn tasted burnt and gross. It's Monahan's fault. We should trade him.

With a Vegas regulation L and Oilers OTL I still can’t help but be fine with the result tonight

Flames actually played very well in the 3rd. Hammond shut it down and the Flames characteristically forgot how to pick up guys on the back check. The first 40 was super messy but the Flames should have blown this open in the third.

I don't think Sutter wanted to reward him after the game he had...same goes with some other players

Still got a point while playing like crap against a team that's playing really well. Disappointed, but know they have a lot more than they showed tonight.

Also, at least some guys will rotate back in to the lineup. I think Monahan will be munching some popcorn by the end of this year, possibly next game. Gotta get Ritchie far away again too.

Won’t be surprised to see Kylington scratched either. He has been overall awesome all year but his leash is short for whatever reason. Immediately yanked from PP2 after the gaffe tonight, didn’t see OT.
If you’re just reading the thread and not watching the game then he’s not spoiling anything. And if you don’t refresh the game thread while watching, then you’re not actually participating in the game thread. Some people do both.

It’s not a big complaint, I don’t know if he realizes it is all.

Mangiapane was great, and the 4th line was solid although they've got no finish. Other than that though, pretty brutal top to bottom. Kylington with some bad turnovers, Monahan invisible offensively, and how many times can Backlund skate over the blueline and fire a puck 5 feet over the net and out of the zone.

Nah, the Flames have been in tight games in the first a lot in the last 15 games, but get that 2nd goal or 2 goal lead back and some solid defensive play, and then then the other team is mentally beaten and it turns quickly to a 3 goal lead.

Habs would've been in their way to mentally beaten if it was 2-0 but they got gifted life, and then the Habs confidence grew through the game, which the Flames haven't done for a couple months.

I'll take it, an undeserved point is a good point. Plus we gave the bonus point to a team we will not see again this season nor has any implication on our standings. It sucks but getting a point in the final 30 seconds is better than not.

This Canadiens team is suddenly good.

You can not like that effort, but putting stock into this game is a fool's errand.

Come on now.

He shouldn’t be on the third line. That line needs more from 2/3 of it.

Well, that ... was.... blech?

The moments of drive were interrupted by lengthy periods of penalty-killing. Not a great formula for winning a game. But at the end of the third they were still tied.

What they thought they were doing in the OT is beyond me. They DO know they can pass back to their guys at the line, or actually fight for the puck, right?

Maybe two tough Minny games just took it out of them? They looked universally awful.

They also worked really hard to lose that. Coach will not be very pleased.

Games in hand maintained.

Gained ground on Vegas.

I'm not bothered.
