One thing about Sutter hockey - he seems to insist on shift length discipline. Which is great for uptempo hockey.

"Oilers hockey" is just letting McBaby and his buddies do whatever the hell they want.

Oilers play one style, and it will never beat a good team in a seven game series

Ugh! The Leafs have another third period comeback and win. They defeated the Devils 6-4. Saturday night was ruined and now Monday night. Regurgitated dessert again.

That OT goal was a prime example of why Nurse is not a $9mil dman.

They are at even strength, both other players are covered and he still tries to block the pass across and not pressure Stutzle at all.

Of course they will Blame Kostkinen because Nurse is in the cool kids club and untouchable.

Schenn scores the empty net goal, the Canucks win.

And his shift was only 2:40. Should have played him the entire OT.

What happens when Kane starts freestyling his shift length and playing 27 a night? Tippett tries to explain to him that he isn't that special? Leadership group tells him that only they are entitled to gas themselves in the name of personal stats? Or maybe mcdavid tells Tippett that he needs to play that much in order for everyone to have the best stats?

Koskinen looks bad on that play but I think it's Nurse's fault.

With Stutzle near the goalline, goalies are trained to go into the RVH, and that's what Koskinen does. But because Nurse is gassed, he doesn't challenge at all so Stutzle is allowed to walk right in an get a shot off from 10 feet. Koskinen stays in the RVH and leaves the corner open -- just enough for the puck to get past him.

Easy to blame Koskinen but the d-man has to play that better (and probably would have if he had any energy left instead of taking a 2:40 shift).

I don't understand why Tippett is allowing his players to play more than half the OT. IMO it's pretty irresponsable and it's also a bad look for the players that are supposed to be leaders being selfish like this. The tier 2 players that don't see the ice in OT must shake their heads as the coach is projecting to them that a dog tired tier 1 player is a better option.

Why not both? Haha.

There is ZERO reason for Koskinen to be in the RVH in that spot.

That's using a huge assumption that the coach has a CHOICE of whether the golden boys come off on a shift or not....

Tippett is not stupid, but it happens all the time - who is really in charge of that dressing room?

Oilyaz hockey ya know!! It’s not Tippet making the decisions. It’s Pissy and McSalty. They are the ones running that show, along with their buddy Kevin Lowe!!

That's what I thought initially. But I think it's reasonable to think your d-man isn't going to stand there and let him waltz in. When he does, Koskinen has a choice to stay in the RVH or come out and challenge, with the risk of being caught in the middle if/when Stutzle shoots it.

That said, Koskinen sure plays small sometimes despite being listed as 6'7.

The usage of RVH in so many situations is too damn high!

Stutzle is in the circle when shooting. IMO, he should be below the circle for Koskinen to consider using it.

But yeah, Nurse is doing him no favours.

So basically, it's a comedy of errors. LOL.

Draisaitl plays a full minute more than any forward not named Connor McDavid. Nurse is top 3 in the league for TOI/gm.

These guys are gonna be gassed by playoffs
