I suggest 2 things

1. No fans until restrictions are lifted
2. Opt out for STH and for then understand how many tickets they can sell then sell the remaining seats
3. Let the people that want to go attend the games

Here we are 2 nights before the game and we don’t k one if our tickets are valid or not. I can’t sell my tickets and I can’t attend that game so I guess I just take the $200 hit?

They will raise prices either way. Keeping 50% revenue for these few games isn’t going to avoid that. How they handle this situation will absolutely impact renewals next year.
Agreed this twelfth hour BS. They do not email tickets that have been transferred to other "account holders" as well, so they may opt out. So basically, I may have a pair of tickets or I may not.

For the most part though, the restrictions and limitations are placed by the government of Alberta and there typically is limited notice to everyone involved. I could not imagine being a restaurant owner and just receive the weekly food order to receive a restriction notice the next day.

Should the season just be cancelled? What are we seeing here? Teams with 8 days off between games and certainly more to come.

All those solutions work for only the customer, there is no business lens on it. Of course, doing what the customer wants at all cost will make them happier.

Sure, prices will go up next year, no matter what. They'll go up more, the more the Flames are impacted by COVID items. There's a costs to all those solutions you are glossing over, with a very utopic view that by doing them, they'll reap the benefits on renewals next year. That's very unlikely.

I think your point around revenue for 1 game at 50% is pretty inconsequential is pretty fair, but I think they are still unclear on whether there's going to be way more of these soon so they likely aren't clear if they are going to have to a bunch more of this sooner than later.

The eleventh hour thing is on the Flames and the NHL IMO. The AB govt has given them plenty of notice of the restrictions in place. The Flames/NHL have just been waiting it out hoping that restrictions might get lifted before going ahead with games.

I think we all get it that its a business, but they could handle this so much better than they have. They seem like a petulant child that is just burying their head in the sheets hoping the problem solves itself for them.

They are risking losing their best customers over this. How is that not a business lens? I can’t speak for you or anyone else but how they handle this will impact if I renew. So making me potentially take several $200 losses this year will result in not getting the $8,000 from me next year and years to come. Sure I will still spend some money and go to games but my commitment as a season ticket holder will cease.

I would argue I am looking at this through a business lens because they way they handle this is going to impact their ability to retain the fans they cherish the most who are the ones that spend the most money with them

I think there is a good chance I will not renew next year, unless there is some ability to opt out of these games. The 50% capacity rule has been in place for some time now, and the Flames haven't provided any clarity to me how they are managing that rule.

It would be helpful to have some information with more than 48 hours notice. Not a peep.

Just got an email confirming my tickets are good for the 13th. I was never sent the email asking for volunteers looking to return tickets.

I volunteered my seats, and my seats were relinquished with a credit being applied to next season.

Good.

####. My tickets are still valid for the game.

My email said "we were able to achieve 50% capacity without the need for you to relinquish tickets".

I don't want them. And Ticket Exhange won't let me list them low enough that they'll sell. Ugh.

Anyone want 212r13, dead Center Ice for $150/pr? That's almost $50 below my cost.

Mine too, very happy.
I have PL's so not surprising they paid me out and kept the higher value seats available.

Mine are still valid and I don't want them either.

I'm getting sick of dealing with CSSC. I'm better off just paying full price for the games I want now and giving up my seats.

Definitely annoyed that we are stuck with these tickets, the Flames are also currently selling their own seats on ticketmaster so that makes no sense. If that was the plan, why not let your best customers opt out?

My seats also include the food vouchers, so what happens to those now? Probably nothing.

Email your season ticket rep and ask for a refund/credit - I would expect that they’ll do it, otherwise you should raise absolute hell.

I wonder how many STHers volunteered to give up their tickets? Given the responses in this thread of people who are stuck with them (50%?), my guess is that there was a lot.

I wasn't given the option to relinquish mine but am actually looking forward to watching live hockey again. I am also really interested to see how many people show up and how they handle the new restrictions. Hopefully the 'Happy Hour' pre-game pricing will be in effect so I can get there early and have a couple of beers before the game.

I'm not mad at CSEC as so much of this is out of their control. They probably could have handled this better but we are in unprecedented times.

Go Flames Go!

I'd bet a lot too. We tried and weren't successful. Anyone want to buy them?

The tickets on fan first are so cheap it’s actually funny. Like Young Guns level pricing.

If anyone wants to go to a game on the cheap, this would be the one. Can get a pair for less than $50.

I’m holding out for $20 lower bowl tickets.

I was actually thinking this would be a good game to take my kid to his first Flames game, and get good seats super cheap. Looks like I’ll hit the Buy/Sell thread to look for a smoking deal.

We put our hand up to relinquish our tickets, and were denied.
