To have success this team needs to outwork the opposition a good deal. When they come out below or equal to the opposition…well, this happens.
I’d hang tonight on the top players. Montreal’s produced, and ours couldn’t make a pass.

Exactly.
Two games in a row where Flames best players were nowhere close to being that.

Typical Flames going on a run with low expectations then losing 4 of 5 when the fan base starts getting excited.

Is Tkachuk the most frustrating player to wear a Flames uniform in years?
Honestly he makes me schizo.

It was a one goal loss on a ridiculously bad penalty call

Now we are 3 back of the grease and tied with Anaheim and LA. Could be in 4th place in the division after tomorrow.

Yup it’s a statistical certainty.
For years Flames have always and seem destined to continue to hover around the mean.

I love how people are still butthurt we didn’t get Eichel but fail to acknowledge that we’d likely be short a roster player (or two) and we wouldn’t have him in the lineup for 4-6 months.
But somehow they think he’d make the difference tonight, despite the fact we’d be demonstrably worse right now if we’d made the trade.

It wasn’t that bad. Tied on the road going into the third is generally a decent situation. The problem was coming out flat in the third against a desperate Montreal team.
Chance to redeem themselves and get back on a win streak tomorrow.

Too much dead weight on the roster IMO. Zadorov, Lewis, Richardson. You'd have a tough time convincing me these are the best options we have.
Hope Valimaki draws in tomorrow, I am not a Zadorov fan.
Markstrom can't allow that GWG. Idc how many goals the forwards score, but don't lose it on THAT

But in six month this team will still be as boring as it is now

Good luck when you have yet again another French Canadian ref calling a game in Montreal.

I think the worst part of not getting Eichel, is reading about how we didn’t get Eichel after every loss or play for the foreseeable future.

Last two minutes nobody wants lead the play. Everybody is looking someone to do something. This team needs a leader that drive the play and lead everyone. Our stars all like supporting players.
Pitlick, zadorov and Lewis needs sit out tomorrow.

You are right, what's the point in building a team with a long-term outlook. Short-term pain for a much brighter future. At some point, you need to take a risk, make a change, and stop with the insanity of trying the same thing over and over again.
Who gives a crap if the Flames lose a bunch this season - this core hasn't done anything and will likely do nothing again. Odds are they will be fighting for a playoff spot and by no stretch are they a contender.
But I guess you are one of those fans who started planning the parade route after 9 games into the season.

I think people should wait until Eichel is back playing before freaking out...he may or may not come back as a top center
Didn't hear much of this talk after Tkachuk's 4 points on Saturday
