Any win over the Tampering Rangers is a good win. Hopefully the Flames can get all the guys going full bore tonight and hand a 5-0 drubbing on these jerks.

Don’t love what I have seen from Dube has a center period but it’s hard to tell what the root cause of the problems are when Brett Ritchie is playing in the top 6

Hm....does he have a vastly less-talented brother?

Well Allan can go FUX himself? Is this the appropriate amount of hate ? Or will the mods edit this post?

Replace Dube with Monahan in your statement.

This is a national game across Canada on the Sportsnet West channel.

The other three regional channels will be showing the Hurricanes-Leafs game.

In his two games at center Dillon Dube is a paltry 38.5% in the faceoff circle, has been outshot 23-5, and out chanced 16-4 at even strength. He has a long ways to go..

I can only imagine the vitriol around here if Monahan had those results.

No. It would then be an incorrect statement.

Yep, Dube - Monahn - Mangiapane was a deadly looking line that no one gave Monahan any credit for. They take Monahan off the line and the magic dried up instantly.

I understand giving Dube looks at center, especially if the team is doing alright.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Dube and Mangiapane with Monahan though, soon.

Also, don’t change the top line for now, but if they start to falter, switch Tkachuk and Coleman. Lindholm and Gaudreau have developed chemistry, and have also had that in the past.

Lol Dube has taken 13 faceoffs. Won 5 lost 8. Not bad for a guy just learning the faceoff game in the NHL.

It’s so obvious the best setup is:

Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Mangiapane-Monahan-Dube
Coleman-Backlund-Pitlick
Lucic-Richardson/Lewis/Ritchie

Hanifin-Andersson
Kylington-Tanev
Valimaki-Gudbranson

Markstrom
Vladar

I think once Monahan starts feeling it again they will move him back up to that line. Sutter seems to want to keep the 1st and 3rd line together which I think is good coaching as the top line has been great and the 3rd line can form an elite shutdown line IMO.

If Monahan starts to rebound I like the look of the forward group.

I don't think it's obvious at all. Monahan simply hasn't been good enough to be in the top 6.

I believe Monahan will be back , offensively, very soon.
