I still think the most-likely scenario is Pitlick to LTIR and Duehr recalled on Friday, but dressing Kylington as a 12th forward/7th d-man isn't the craziest idea in the world.

If they are trying it in practice that means they are considering it in some capacity

No it doesn't mean that.

They only had 18 healthy skaters for practice - 11 forwards and 7 defensemen. It made perfect sense to push Kylington up to the wing so they could run 4 lines for the practice.
