Honestly I don't know if he's serious or if it's just an act at this point.
In this case I think Kravtsov could become a top 6 winger in the NHL at some point, his KHL production last year was actually quite strong for a player his age in that league
But I don't think you could pencil him in as a top 6 forward in the NHL at this point. Although I do think he could be an interesting player on a line with Backlund.

Dreger says Kravtsov willing to spend a season in the AHL and consider signing a 1 year contract extension but asking price is high

I would trade Pelletier for him, but I am well known to be not high on Pelletier.

Rangers want top 6 talent for a player that may or may not be a top 6 NHL talent. Doesn't hurt to ask I guess.

Commendable to say he's willing to earn a spot by playing on the farm. Good for him. I hope the Flames snag him.

Yeah, I get the thought process but still find it funny that they have a 2018 drafted player who didn’t make their team and who they want to send to the farm, but for whom they want a top 6 player. Yeah, we’ll be sending Mangiapane right over.

I'd offer a couple picks, maybe even a 2nd + 4th for him if that's what it took. He'd round out our top 9 quite nicely imo. I think Backlund and Dube would be great linemates for a kid like this
Liked the idea of Pelletier straight up too
I'd rather spend pick capital on guys like this instead of crap like fortbort, zadorov, Gustafson, etc
At least this kid has some potential

We’re not exactly going off a quote from the team, but the tweet says “potential of Top 6” which I assume means future. They don’t need a top 6 player now (or next year), that’s why Kravstov wants out.

There's a difference between top 6 guy and top line guy. This kid was probably drafted with the hope that he could become worthy of top line status, most top 10 picks are. 2018 wasn't that long ago and now with kakko and laf there, and a couple other capable dudes, the path is long
It's mostly about time, opportunity and luck with a lot of these guys. Chemistry obviously huge, look at Bennett.
If you think this kid has 25-30-55 potential, you at least kick the tires

I wish BT was as bold trading picks for potential as he is for low ceiling guys. I wouldn't fault him for a swing and a miss on a guy like this. It's a smart use of a pick
Where he drives me crazy is trading futures for average, low impact guys. Just switch the philosophy a bit, and I think it would make a world of difference

Kravtsov tied Panarin for the ninth-best scoring total (21pts in 50 games) for players under 20 years old in KHL history, contributing 26.58% of his team's points, in his D+1 year. He's big, plays all 3 positions, skates very well, and has great puck skill. He plays a bit of a power game, has some defensive awareness (still needs refinement), has good puck protection, and is very hard to move or knock off the puck. If all it took to aquire him was Pelletier, there should be no problem with that. VK was compared to Kuznetsov in his draft year, for his skill and edgy play.
Go get him Tre, and put him with Backs and Dube.

Trade Backlund for him. Brings in a new player with potential and gets rids of an overrated and overpaid player

Second line centre consistently produces second line offense, while he continues to be the top defensive forward with among the lowest number of offensive zone starts and highest qualcomp on the team. So overrated.

Come on Rangers! We already gave you Fox. Give us Kravtsov and we'll become friends again.

Pelletier for Kravtsov would be a good trade for both teams. That Kravtsov is willing to start in the AHL and improve his overall game is a very good sign. I could see him pushing Pitlick out of the 3RW spot during the season.

You want to add Kravtsov to Pelletier, Zary, and Coronoto, not trade one of those prospects for another. Work the angle of moving a good pick and a B-C prospect, otherwise stick with what you have. We need to find more good young talent, not shift deck chairs or deplete the number of good young players we have.

NYR said that they want a top six potential player back. On Calgary, that's Pelletier (we have lots and lots of LWers), Zary or Coronato. Kravtsov plays RW, and is comparable to Pelletier, so positionallly speaking, it's a win.
