My guess is attendance will be pretty much where it was pre-pandemic....everywhere.

Genuinely curious because in my mind, schools are just a giant petri dish that i believe are responsible for far far more cases of spread than anything else in society. .
One is a necessity and the other is a luxury.
Just comes down to that.

Thanks teach!

Just pointing out we have plenty of "Flames are going to suck" topics rotating around the clock. Probably didn't need one line zingers in a safety topic.

So then you layer on top of that any additional risk I feel I would be taking on with my daughter unvaccinated and the math tells me to stay home.
I'm kind of in the same boat. I don't have kids. But for me, it's not really a comfort level. It's just a motivation level on even wanting to attend a live game when I can do so in the comfort of my own home. You add on the pandemic, and there's one less reason to go.

I don't think it's going to have serious issues in Canada. Toronto, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Montreal will likely sell out most nights. Vancouver and Calgary will likely have empty seats but still solid attendance relative to a lot of US teams. Ottawa is probably going to be fine.

With where my flames seats are located I would have to walk within 6 feet of close to 1000 people just to get up to the PL.

Don't frequent Calgary as much as I used to given the obvious but I'd be comfortable attending games. To echo a comment here (I believe NEB said it), I've been vaccinated and thats the best I can do.

Clearly those are the only two options. Living in fear, afraid to leave the house or 100% comfortable with going to an indoor arena with 19000 people.

Also, is that what the pandemic has been like for some of you? Were you cowering in your basement living in fear for the past 18 months? Because that must have really sucked.

Is the mask mandate part of what the province decided to do last week or did the Saddledome require a mask prior to that when they originally announced the vaccine mandate?

I have to say as someone that has had COVID in the past and has been fully vaccinated I am fully comfortable being in the Saddledome with everyone else being vaccinated as well but if i'm required to wear a mask for 3 hours straight on top of that i'd much rather just watch the game at home.

I am 100% vaxxed but wont be supporting any businesses requiring a vax pass.
I have been to events in Florida and Arizona in the past few months with far larger crowds than Flames games with no vax passes or restrictions and felt 100% safe. Im done monitizing the fear machine.

Not at all trying to make light of your concern

In 2019 there were 717 deaths of Canadian Children ages 1-14 according to StatsCan

There were just over 1600 deaths of children under 1.

So far there have been 12 deaths of Canadian Children aged 0-19 attributed to Covid-19

Why would you be making significant adjustments to your life based on the math?

What other activities would you keep out of your life and your children away from with the Covid standard?

Nobody is on trial here.

Why are people personally offended that others don’t want to go? No one is saying that nobody should be allowed to go. People are saying they personally aren’t going yet. What’s the problem with that?

Wait wait wait.... so blatant COVID misinformation is too hard to moderate, so it's left to continue.

But we can't complain about paying thousands of dollars and putting our health at slight risk to go see a crappy hockey team!?

This is actually a great policy because I will only support non-essential businesses which are complying with the law and requiring vaccine passports. So this minimizes the risk of us crossing paths.

To be fair this could be any year watching the Flames. I've gotten sick after getting back from the Dome, watching them squeak out a win on a Wednesday night against the Hurricanes. Didn't cost thousands mind you, but the risks noted above are not isolated to just this season.

I'll probably go when the Flames come to Vancouver.
Buy only if masks aren't mandated inside at that point. I wouldn't enjoy having to wear a mask the while game and not even be able to sip a beer.

My guess is only at the concourse that you would to wear a mask, to eat and drink and cheer.. you cant have a mask on. Similar to a restaurant, once you are at your table, you dont wear a mask. Just a guess.

Again luxury v. necessity. And the fact that my daughter doesn't enjoy going to hockey games. So I'm not going to increase her exposure risk for something I can enjoy at home.

Not going to Flames' games does not represent a significant adjustment to my life. I was a season ticket holder for about 5 seasons long ago. Now I go to probably 6-8 games a year at most.
