So jealous lol, wish I could be there for this, I know a few years ago they put things up for sale later, any idea of they are doing that again?

This is very much the truth.

It was strange this year, very little stock compared to last year. What happened to everything they had left over from last year? They didn’t sell it online. By the time it was 10 am today it seemed there were just pants left.

Something new since COVID,

They let employees get first dibs on gear, this is probably why the lack of variety for general public

Whatever the reason, whether it be early access for season ticket holders or otherwise, I was extremely extremely underwhelmed. Even the supposed "deals" weren't that impressive. $200 for a St. Patrick's day jersey or $100 for an authentic practice jersey didn't seem like great deals to me.

The 35% off new merchandise was a pretty great deal, especially if you were in the market for a new sweater with Gaudreau and Tkachuk leaving in the offseason.

I was told by a friend who went the first few groups in line (the wagon crew) cleaned up pretty quick, he too said that these guys go every year and then re-sell on kijiji etc.

He figures they were likely in for 5K+ based on their haul right off the hop.

Got a massive haul this year. I guess it pays to be first in line.

These people suck. I saw a bunch of them there, having filled entire equipment bags full of stuff. Obviously for resale. I say limit every person to 10 items or less, at least until an hour after it's open to the general public.

We waited in line for roughly 15 hours, when we got in I grabbed some goalie gear, a set of Markstrom gear for a friend of mine out east as hes a huge fan of him, Rittich's heritage classic set and a set of minor leaguer gear but I forgot the name of the player, I didn't end up buying this guys gear as there was a boy who really wanted it as he was a goalie and knows the minor league player, so I stopped the WAGON and was happy to give them to him as they meant a lot to him, he was so happy he started crying. I also grabbed a pair of mike smith gloves to go with my collection of his gear and a lone catcher for a friend in Edmonton. A pair of louis Domingue gloves to go with his pads I purchased at last years sale. Also a pair of Vladar gloves for a friend whose got his pads and wanted to complete the set. I found a lone Blasty blocker of Rittich's and a pair of Dustin wolf pants. They had a bunch of brand new goalie cut jerseys that were $200 a piece, I grabbed a couple home and away of those because they match my gear I use. I also grabbed a game Issued Rittich away jersey, St. Patties, heritage classic practice and a couple of regular practice jerseys that were all blank. I grabbed a pair of Vladar skates but they were cracked I was going to get them to use but now they're getting autographed and put into the collection. I also got a pair of Gubrasson skates and pair of blank true players skates for my younger brother. The other season ticket holder I was with grabbed a Markstrom blocker to go with his catcher he bought last year, pair of lucic skates and gloves, a pair of kylington skates, a pair of mike Cammalleri gloves, a pair of Gubrasson gloves and helmet and a white locker room carpet mat which he ended up buying and then giving away to a guy that was really wanting the rug but wasn't able to get one as he was in the general public line.

I love how people make assumptions and bad mouth other people that are these sales. especially then ones that don't even go, If you have a problem with it then I invite you to campout for 15+ hours so you can get what you want.

I dont think anyone's assuming you did something wrong.
But for every 1 of guys like you who go and do this for yourself/friends there's a half dozen who go to buy and throw it up on re-sale.

I'm happy you got that haul for yourself, kept it away from those people we're speaking about

15 hours…?!?

So you got there at 6:30pm Friday night? Who exactly was behind you for 11 of those hours? If a person was to believe you.

Why not take the money you dropped on everything and buy some kind of ticket package & get in early then you can get what you want without the insecure humble brag.

I waited in line for approximately 25 minutes and was satisfied with my return.

But I also didn’t need… what… 5 pairs of skates!!! & two St. Patty’s jerseys? along with need to defend/boast post about my return.

Nice collection of gear Brett!

You should post some of your collection. I only dabble in cards and autographs but the game used gear stuff is interesting.

We've been camping out for sales for over 15 years. We have season tickets and wanted to be at the front of the season ticket holders line so we could buy what we wanted. The only reason I posted my sale experience is to show people like yourself that we're not there to flip all the stuff we get, we help out other collectors that are friends and collect and use the gear. We spend thousands at every sale and the flames are happy that the gear doesn't have to be put back into the Wearhouse.
