I'm still fuming that this was what they thought last year but couldn't beat Ottawa EVERY single time FFS.
These guys have to listen to Sutter, Muller, Huska and Maclean and stop this coach killing BS.
It's painful hearing and watching this clusterF on the ice get dominated by clearly inferior teams.....Jesus tappdancing Christ its getting old.
Let's be in shape, be prepared to go through the wall every game without worrying how bloody you get.
Darryl spelled it out ....I don't like losing. I'm back because this team has unfinished MFing business.
Let's Go!!!!! Wooooooooooooo

What's difficult for me is finding a spot for Monahan. He's not the greatest set up guy and but an elite finisher. The problem is that there aren't that many actual playmakers on the team. In fact, the only two players with any kind of higher end playmaking ability are Gaudreau and Lindholm. It's hard to rationalize breaking Gaudreau and Lindholm two up after the way they killed it together at the end last season.
I just don't see Monahan succeeding while playing with any of the other players on this team. He two way play isn't good enough and he's not a playmaking centre that's going to succeed with crash and bang guys like Coleman, Mangiapane, Tkachuk, etc...

You have to account for the possibility that they're not inferior teams. We've got more than enough evidence to show that we're not just a good team underachieving, we're a bad team. We had a fluke 2/3rds of a season two years ago, lets not cling to the outlier being the norm like we did with '04.

My thoughts exactly.
Do you move him to the wing with johnny and lindholm then?
Could he keep up with them?

I see some having Tyler Pitlick penciled in on our 3rd line and while I admittedly don't know much about him, I get the feeling if that is the case then this team is in much more trouble then I initially realized. If only Tre could have obtained another true top six forward.....sigh
Gaudreau - Lindholm - Mangiapane
Tkachuk - Monahan - __________
Dube - Backlund - Coleman
Lucic - Lewis - Ritchie
Ex. Pitlick

Sean Monahan's vision and playmaking ability are easily top six material.. He is every bit as capable in that regard as Elias Lindholm is. This fanbase has unfairly pigeonholed him as a one dimensional sniper.
I personally don't see why he wouldn't work with Tkachuk, Coleman or Mangiapane.

without an outside addition, this team badly needs a prospect to step up with 10-15 goals

Pitlick is probably a better forward than anybody you have on your 4th line.
And Coleman just played top 6 mintues (based on TOI) for a team that won back to back Stanley Cups, so not sure penciling him as a third liner is fair.

Yep Coleman will be in the top 6 for sure. Fans will love him (for the first half of the contract anyways).
Pitlick and Lewis don’t jump out as big names, but they were brought in to try and build an identity out of our bottom six. Both great on the forecheck and great at limiting chances.
