Makes me think about my own kids -- the pieces of art and other things I save for them, and what I might gift to them someday. I posted in the WRMMH thread letting my daughter wear my beloved 30-year-old Flames jersey to school that I owned and wore as a child. That was pretty cool.
I recently passed down a Rider jersey to my nephew that I was given on the field by a beaten and bloodied Dave Albright. I think it’s from 1988. Maybe 89.

I used to own a Kentucky Rifle from the late 1700s that my uncle gave me, but I sold it a few years ago for a few hundred dollars. It was a decent enough rifle, but it just wasn’t something that I had any use for.

I still have a book that says it was published in 1683 or thereabouts, but the book isn’t remotely readable and is completely falling apart.

More practically, I have lots of dinnerware, silverware, and the like that is from the early 1800s.

As the last person in my family (and it sure looks like the family line will end with me), I seem to end up with a lot of old family stuff that has little practical value but I just can’t quite part with.

I have a US silver dollar with JFK in the year of my birth. My grandfather gave it to me and it's in my work briefcase for luck.

I have one of those too from a great grandfather who retired from the railroad, and it's been passed down.

My buddy, who is now 50, still wears his 80s era red Flames jersey that he got when he was in bantam to every game he gets to. That deserves a call out in this thread!

My grandpa picked up a Vitessa Yoigländer camera in Germany in the 1950's when he was over there with the RCAF on a military training mission. It still works, although it doesn't take great photo's anymore. Him and I talked about photography a few years ago when I was visiting them in Ontario. The next day he came by again and brought his Vitessa, along with it's leather strap case and an attachable flash component and told me I should keep it. It's really special to me because he was so proud of it and he gave it to me because I shared the interest in photography. He passed away at the end of 2019.

Here's a screenshot of on online:

I had my Dad's childhood hockey jersey - it must have been from the early 50s.

My dad gave me his Rolex from 1970 that he had bought in Mexico. Apparently he won some sort of draw for a watch, and paid $100 USD to upgrade it to a Rolex. He wore it as his every day watch, so that watch took a bit of a beating over the years. I'm actually surprised he kept the box, which was nice. It finally conked out on him about 10 years ago, and he never bothered to fix it.

He gave it to me last year, and I sent it into Rolex to repair and service it. Well worth it as it's almost brand new looking now, and runs like a charm.

I received this flag from my Uncle when he passed. He got it from my Great Great Uncle who brought it home from WWI. I had it framed so it wouldn't collect dust in a box or fall apart being placed on the wall without the frame.

I also have some old course pictures from me wife's side of the family.

The 1917 Grenade School photo in original frame is pretty cool.

I also have a championship photo of one of her great grandparents from when they won Ontario Lacrosse Championship, around mid-20's. It hangs in the boy's room, he plays he gets it. We also have the stick that he used as well, which also hangs over the photo in the boy's room.

I have a number of photos taken from a Great Great Uncle when he was in India with the British Military in the early 1900's.

As a lacrosse parent/fanatic - this is amazing. For your boy to have that stick is just fantastic.

My teeth are around 30 years old and I use them every day. My dentist says they're in tip top shape too.

Dentists are untrustworthy.

He is probably lying to you.
